When I started my process I had a BMI of 40.3 amd I needed a 40 for my insurance to cover also. I was required to lose weight before surgery and my BMI was less than 40 once I had done my 6 months worth of weight management visits. My insurance approvede based on my starting BMI not where I was after the weight management…

I jumped right in after surgery into social events. It was important to me to be able to still socialize with my friends. I have had incredibly supportive people in my life so when I go out with them they do not make me feel awckward or unusual about my eating. When I go out I usually have a plan of what I will order ahead…

I struggled with my weight the last 20 years and kept saying to myself I can do this on my own. The problem was I would lose some weight but then gain it back and even more. I just hit my goal weight this morning and I am 38 weeks out from surgery. I don't think this journey is for everyone. I think you need to be…

That sounds terrible. I wish I had advice, but I have not had that issue. I hope this passes quickly.
-
Good luck. This is a great journey.

Thank you.

If you are under 1000 calories it won't let you complete. What you can do is add calories up to the 1000 mark so it will post and then remove the extra so when others look at your diary the will see what you actually ate.

I too wish that I had the surgery earlier in life however I think I had to get where I was to be committed and appreciate the tool I now have. No regrets I got my life back!

Welcome to the group and I'm sorry to hear about your accident and am glad you are okay. There are some great people here!

I am about 7 months out and I still drink 1 premier protein shake per day. I buy them at Costco so they aren't too expensive. A lot of times I heat half shake and add decaf coffee. My favorite morning treat.

Thank you everyone this is really helpful.

@ruqayyahsmum thank you that is a great idea. Do you take the chewables?

I created a "meal" wity my vitamins and then created a "vitamin" meal so i set up a reminder and then to add my vitamins they are saved under meals. Hope this helps.

@clcmfp my biggest concern is not the taste but that they made me feel sick. I have a hard time swallowing pills. I'm not supposed to take iron at this point either so it limits some of the bariatric vitamins I can take. Iron can be toxic if you are not deficient and are taking it. Guess it is all trial and error. Thank…

The calculation my surgeon gave me was multiply your current body weight by .3 for your grams per day. Example if you are 188 x .3 your daily protein needs are 56. My surgeon does say do not go below 60 g per day.

Welcome to MFP. This is a great group and very supportive.

I take all gummies and actually really look forward to my vitamins.
-
Congrats! That is so exciting

I haven't tried the shake, but they make "reeses peanut butter cups" and they are amazing. Do you find that when you make your shakes in the blender they are really foamy? They tend to hurt my stomach if there is too much foam.

Just as an FYI if you are looking for support the lapband/VSG/Bypass group is pretty active. You could check out posts there.
