If you're not lactose intolerant then why would you cut dairy out? Just watch your portions and keep the milk fat percentage to 0 or as low as you can.

You can do this. Make small goals and focus on those then the big picture doesn't seem so overwhelming

I have a huge problem overeating. I recently saw a psychologist to help deal with it. She suggested slowing down and chewing food slowly and taking 20 to 30 min to eat and do not go for seconds. So far it's been helping me.
