Please keep in mind that there are often restrictions on food/drinks (liquids) when it comes to international travel. It would be wise to find out if any of these apply to you before you go all out and plan your journey around your own supplies.

because people put different amounts of effort into each one and the number of calories burned would vary wildly. How about grabbing yourself a cheap bluetooth heart rate monitor and hooking it up to an app on your smartphone? The app would then sync your (supposed) calories burned with MFP automatically. Just keep in mind…

six pounds isn't a lot left until target. You should be looking at 0.5lbs per week now.

triple espresso first thing in the morning. Freshly ground from recently roasted beans. None of that Starbucks/Costa rubbish or... even worse... instant *shudders* I savour it. It is wonderful, and woe betide anyone that interferes with my morning coffee.

I'd be more concerned about the sugar being in my lungs rather than my digestive system... but I guess that's just me.

I was about to say, sure, you can chop out a couple of those pesky ribs if you feel like it... shave down your jawbone... have leg lengthening surgery if you feel a little short... whatever floats your boat. Are you rich?

Actually this thread needs stickied... how do we achieve that?

I love this thread. As someone who weighs daily and just likes data, it provides me with a certain sense of smugness whilst satisfying my geeky side. Where's the upvote button... Now if only MFP would fix their withings syncing issues...

www.dcrainmaker.com has some great in-depth reviews. I suggest starting there. I'm still in the process of choosing a "family", I think I'm heading towards garmin though.

Stop thinking that you "should" go for a run. Too many "shoulds" = feelings of failure and that just maintains the vicious cycle. Make your goals smaller, much smaller. Make them daily goals, heck, even hourly goals if you need to. There is no "tomorrow", live for now. Do what you can, now, and give yourself credit for the…

I admire your enthusiasm, but that's rather "all or nothing" thinking there. You could apply the same philosophy to life with completely different results and it would be just as valid. That works for you. Other people may need certain 'comforts' in order to stick with their long term goals. It may take them an extra few…

Yup, as of the MFP update actually. The scales sync with the withings app, but MFP is no longer talking to the withings app. Updated everything, checked all settings, nothing works. Contacted support and got the same canned response of "how to set it up" etc

Up North :P

They aren't HRMs... They are glorified pedometers . Only one of the Fitbit range has a HRM (optical). They are devices designed to motivate people to get off their backsides a little more. That's all. *edit* never mind, I read that wrong. You think HRM's are stupid too it seems. Each to their own. HRM's give you a…

Reading this just made me shudder. Topamax also makes you dumb as bricks. Horrible drug, and I can't believe they actually plucked up the balls to remarket this as a "weight loss" supplement. Why anyone would want to take any kind of medication that messes with your brain in the hopes that it will make them lose a few…

It's illegal... what... why... how... It's a damn good meat, and I say that as a horse lover. I don't see how a country can outlaw specific meats (other than human of course). As long as it is killed according to law then it really shouldn't matter.

I guess as a pisces that resigns me to a lifetime of spirulina, kelp and sardines.

Don't forget to give yourself rest days. I know it's a "30 day shred" but even Jillian herself said in one of her podcasts that doing all 30 days without rest days was a bad idea if you aren't already exercising every day. If you are tired/sore, take a day off then you can give it 110% the following day instead of dragging…

There are "don't break the chain" apps if you want an easy visual to look at. Search for "habit" or similar keywords.

Like I said, create her own evidence.

Got to love success shopping. Shopping at a whole new level.

I have to say, I'm going to agree with this because OP seems to have her own ideas and isn't listening. Enjoy your 1600 for a few weeks to get yourself out of 'starvation mode'. Get back to us in a few weeks with the results. Sometimes the best evidence is the evidence you create yourself.

But what if you are a grower and it's cold?

measuring cups are terrible, and your diary seems to say otherwise. There are very, very few actual weights in there. Stick at 1200 if that is what MFP recommends and tighten up your logging by weighing things precisely.
-
Where did you get this idea from? Your diary is full of generic measurements (one packet, one portion, one burger, one bar, one bowl, one banana, one egg etc.) I'm fairly certain that you are eating a lot more calories than you think you are. Weigh things properly in grams using a scale and try again.

Doesn't sound much like a friend. I wouldn't be hanging around her tbh

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great :)

try taking some probiotics for a bit. Your body is used to junk food, your gut needs to adjust. Help it out a little.

Stop relying on free-from foods and start eating more natural foods (meat/veg/fruit/dairy etc etc) Free-from foods are often worse than the "real thing".
