  • Um, ok. My diet has always been nutritious. Lots of veggies, meats, some fruits, dairy . . . I have just chosen to limit foods that have added sugars in them. I also don't add sugar to things like tea or coffee. I limit my sweet intake because I find that when I do indulge I feel like rubbish and it throws my stomach off.…
  • Go to a walk in clinic then.
  • Say what you want but I know how I -- and my stomach -- feels when I limit my sugar intake.
  • My research is based on how I feel when I limit added sugar in my diet and cutting way down on the sweet treats I consume vs. how I feel when I have it. The result? I feel much better without the added sugar and sweet treats. That's MY research.
  • I have always been a toe/mid-foot striker regardless of the shoes that I'm wearing. I have the vibram 5 finger shoes that I wore probably half a dozen times running and I screwed up my foot due to no cushion.
  • I was fitted at a running store and I wear brooks adrenaline. I'm going to get another analysis done soon and see what shoe is recommended.
  • I am extremely cognizant of foods that have added sugars, the type of sugar it is, where is it on the ingredient list, how many grams are in a serving etc. I eat fruit (not a lot though. No reason, I just don't) and veggies and will have the occasional dessert when at a restaurant but it's rare when I do.
  • Well I suppose it depends on you. How often do YOU want to squat? I do legs every other day so my squat day is typically 1 day a week since the other days I do other exercises that work the legs.
  • Because not everyone has the time nor wants to do an internet search and they want something that tells them what to do? These programs have specific exercises every day of the week and a meal plan to follow. Some people need to be told what to do when and what to eat when. When I follow a program it forces me to exercise…
  • I had a hard time getting up early this winter, especially when it was 20 or 30 below zero. There was a good stretch of weeks where I didn't hit the gym for that reason. Thank goodness for DVD's!! As far as the dark goes it sucks but after a while you get used to getting up. ETA: the fact that we stop for coffee before and…
  • 5:15 alarm goes off. Hit snooze until about 5:30 wait for husband to dress, brush teeth Get up dress brush teeth Gather workout clothes together Head for the gym Get to gym around 6:15 (or so) Workout for an hour Get back home/work before 8 a.m. If it's a non-cardio day I will shower when I get home. If it's a cardio day I…
  • Per the article: How much does a good gym run? As much as $500 a month, and if you’re paying that much, you’re sure as hell gonna make sure you get something out of it.
  • Why not just let people go to whatever gym they want? I go to Planet Fitness and it suits my needs just fine. $21/month is the perfect price. I would never EVER pay $500/month for a gym membership. That is just ludicrous. If I have the $6,000/year to spend on a gym membership then I might as well buy my own equipment and…
  • LOL. No foolin'!
  • *shrugs* I see nothing wrong with it. I honestly think the outrage is because it was a 20 year old female saying it about a guy. The fact that she was his daughters friend is irrelevant. If it were reversed and it was a sons friend saying it about a mom I'm sure the response would be much different.
