I'm really in the same boat. I'm trying to get more protein into my diet; MFP has taught me that I don't eat enough. So I've increased the Greek yogurt, protein powder, meat, fish, etc. I am not as motivated to lift weights either, especially while training for a specific race. But it's just something that I've got to get…

I love peanut butter, so I do celery boats a lot; the peanut butter is oh so good and the crunchiness of the celery makes me feel like I'm eating something really satisfying (well, it is to me!). I use PB2 for the peanut butter.

Good point, thanks! I have been enjoying the benefits of getting faster! I ran my fastest miles ever in my race yesterday!

You are an inspiration! I am mid-way in my journey to tone up as well; I have a similar body type to yours and am gradually seeing my middle shrink. I do a lot of running because I love it so I don't have a lot of time to lift, but once running season is over this year I'm going to do Body Beast. I also have endo but have…

I'm in the same boat; I think my belly and thigh fat will be the last to go. I'm losing fat elsewhere and I look kind-of silly now, but at least I'm losing. I'm just going to keep on keepin' on, I know it will come off at some point.

Juicing can be a good part of your diet but at some point you are probably going to miss chewing your food and may go on a binge because you feel deprived. Making homemade juices can be fun and tasty but using them as a meal replacement will probably make you hangry, and you may regret it later! Eat at a calorie deficit…

First of all, MFP won't recommend less than 1200 calories. How much weight per week did you input? Usually 0.5 to 1 lb of weight loss per week is do-able. Secondly, you can get fat eating too much "high quality food." In order to lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit, however starving yourself is not the answer…

Spend some time on this discussion board and read the sticky threads. You'll find that the primary means by which you're going to lose weight is by eating at a calorie deficit. Swimming is excellent exercise and if it's something you enjoy, just keep doing it. Having an activity you enjoy helps keep you motivated. But…

Eating at a calorie deficit means you eat less calories than what your body requires and burns on its own just being alive. You can find this number by utilizing MFP's guided goal setup or by calculating your TDEE (Google TDEE calculator). Go to "goals" and choose "guided" -- MFP will have you put in your weight, age, etc.…

What happens when you decide to stop this diet? Will you be able to keep the lost weight off? That's the problem with these short-term diets, they end at some point and offer no strategy for keeping the weight off. It's better to go long-term with a calories in-calories out mentality, find your body's caloric needs, and…

Even Shaun T, the program's creator, says to just do as much as you can for as long as you can. Everybody comes in with different fitness levels so don't compare yourself to them. If you get tired, take a little break and then jump back in.

Well, the more you eat, the more you toot, the more you toot the better you feel...so have them every meal! Seriously though, they have a lot of fiber and there are brands that are lower in sugar than others. But like the above posters said, it's more about fitting everything into your calorie allotment. There's really no…

"It's peeeeople....Soylent Green is peeeeeeople!!!!!!!!" Best movie line ever.

Well I can't seem to get hired as a paramedic -- too much experience I guess. Around here, in order to teach EMT classes you have to be accredited, the way a college is. I do teach first aid and CPR but it's not a good money-maker because there is so much competition as the area is inundated with instructors. I'd have to…

I like this idea, I just don't have much business sense. Can you recommend any good websites/tutorials on small business starting? I think I'd have something to offer.

I've had things thrown at me from cars, horns honked, things yelled, cars that swerve into my path....people suck. Hope you can find a more peaceful place to workout. Hey Karma....go get those idiot kids!!!

I'm a very active person and have always engaged in some sport or form of exercise, but I gained weight because I was eating too much. The key for me was learning about calories in - calories out and learning about what amount of calories was actually necessary for me to eat. I achieved success by eating at a deficit and…

I've been using Shakeology off and on for quite some time. I'm beginning to realize that for me, it's not worth the money. Yes, there are some healthy ingredients but it's nothing you can't get in ordinary food. I do like it for its pre- and probiotics. It's really up to you if you want to spend the money. Some people…

I never wear cotton socks to workout/run either. I use nylon composite socks and I feel like they keep the moisture away. If there's a running store anywhere nearby, they can help you find some better socks.

I wish I could get into a better routine of working out first thing in the AM. I'm so good at talking myself out of it -- professional procrastinator over here. When I do workout in the AM, I usually just have a nice tall glass of water. I find it harder to work out on a full stomach.

The answer I received: "I know what I know, I don't have to defend it." Lordy.

With the egg "muffins" - how long do you bake them for?
-
Yah, you can't spot reduce unfortunately. Keep eating at a deficit and working out in whatever way is fun and keeps you motivated. For me, I'm pretty sure my belly and thigh flab will be the last to go.

Correction...running programs, not workout programs.

Find a good build-up program that works for you. I've experienced good results with workout programs from Jenny Hadfield (www.jennyhadfield.com). She has programs for all levels and distance goals.

Me too! Especially because most of my running routes bring me by hayfields, and I love the smell of fresh cut grass! Plus it's pretty.

Thanks; I'm trying now to do scrambled eggs every morning. I bought some breakfast meat to put in with them. I have to do dairy carefully because it can give me stomach trouble. Getting more protein is going to be my focus. Thanks for all your help!!

The TDEE I have set is 1800. I have to agree with Ickiehl, I really love my sport and want to run as much as I can while the weather is good. I understand that I won't see as much fat loss right now but I'm having fun. I'm doing as much lifting as my running program will allow; right now I can't afford the rest days that…
