  • I'm training right now just to be able to have the endurance levels to finish an ironman distance... So I haven't locked myself into a particular location.... .. howeverrrrrr I've got a keen eye on the soul snatching undulations of Whistler's hills or velvety aqua blues of Cozumel Mexicos water💧

Portaging was hard yakker but the whole experience was great fun! Hope you get to fulfil your plans😊 [/quote] Emma Lake? Will have to Google that!…
  • Amazing insight and to be honest I think that is what makes rowing so special and diversified. I enjoy the extremely tough days almost competitive within my own limits but yes a zen esque row in a romanticized sort of way can be so peaceful.

  • Amazing reads in here. I agree you get a full body work out that is unique to rowing! Yes I also believe in more Zen-ish concepts to row. Feel the pull, feel the water, feel the boat, feel the water and become that flow.
  • *** I'd also like to add one more thing: Start doing some long distance running on a treadmill but now, I want you to land your footstrikes more on the front balls of your feet this will strain your calves very well and condition them for prolonged stress ... On recovery: add into your routine golf ball massage at the base…
  • I've created your hiking program: Often if you're getting soreness in that region then it could be a support muscle such as the tibialis or the "Shin" area. The best advice I've learned over the years is to: 1) Sit on a chair 2) Keep your back Straight 3) keep your knees bent at 90 degrees 4) Lift your feet one at a time…
  • It's really much more simple find your optimal depth and repeat it! Just make sure the basic positions are good like hands shoulders head sound elbows and don't flare knees. If you need more depth you can always hop on over to the reverse leg press and get more depth to fire the quads and hams Also width of feet is…
  • I have a funny confession to make... I was watching a movie with "The Rock" and he was doing this absurd peck dance and the mexican actor was throwing cherries at his pecks! Each chenry was redirected with high velocity in a new trajectory almost creating lethal impact similar to a paint ball gun... Since then I have been…

Unfortunately we can't pick and choose where to Shed those nasty lipid deposits! Fun Fact: The visceral stomach fat is here to shedthe most stubborn and the last area…
  • Hey, Sorry to read about your injury, foot injuries can be tedious and Stressful but fear not! There is a simple Solution... throw on your favorite Swimsuit strap on a pair of swim goggles and google some "beginner" level swim workouts.. simple like 10 laps at an easy pace (front crawl, breast stroke, back stroke, frog…
  • Leaning towards the "active" portion of the spectrum for sure:)
  • Yep, See your Doc. However, tone down your intensity but go longer think low and slow and longer... also try eucalyptus oil(might help you) The idea is to stay relaxed during the work portion of your training... if you can feel the onset of an asthma attack hop off the treadmill and take long slow deep breaths to regain…
  • When I was a child my parents enrolled us in sports instead they told us"if you work out and lift weights at a young age you can Stunt your growth" I whole heartedly Stand by that.

  • Agree w/ previous reply, wait until you're healed then try" low impact" activities such as the following: Swimming walking walking on treadmill easy variations of yoga lifting but very lightweight les workouts(calf raises, body weight squats)
  • Hmm seems like your weight is at a good number already... how tall are you and age?
  • Yes good for you! Contrary to popular belief, active recovery is much more effective at keeping the body supple and ready for your next big session! Even a simple walk/yoga(Hatha) can be considered a good recovery day!
