  • I hope you all had a great Sunday! I treated myself to a day of NOTHING! I've been working an insane amount of hours lately and I needed a day of doing nothing but watching tv to just reset. I did stay within (and under) my calories for the day - ate according to plan - and, drank plenty of water today. So it wasn't a…
  • @scarffandrea I'm glad you talked to the doc! I know it's frustrating - but hang in there. But just know that if you can't do Contrave anymore, it's OK!! There are other options. Let me give you the short version of my story with these meds... A few years ago I was on Contrave and I did great - no problems at all! Life…
  • @itsmegina Perfect. Then if we are wrong, we will be wrong together.
  • The last two weeks have been beyond stressful at work - and I have been putting in an insane amount of hours (but working from home. I often don't get around to eating lunch until 2;30 or 3:00. :( I don't have time or mental energy to exercise either. But, the good part in all of this, I have NOT skipped a meal. I have NOT…
  • @itsmegina Well good - we can figure this out together! :) Welcome!! I was trying to figure that out too. First I convinced myself that we didn't have to post a weight tomorrow. But then, I decided that we do. Because the weeks go Sunday to Saturday. So the first week starts in two days. So tomorrow is the last day before…
  • Hi everyone! I've down just over 28 pounds - I have over 100 pounds to go! I would love to support you guys, and obviously, wouldn't turn down your support. ;) It always helps to have people in your corner cheering you on! Feel free to send a friend request if you like! Best wishes to you all!
  • I just want to say, I'm excited for the new month to start. I think I finally caught up on all 19 pages of posts. ;) I didn't want to just jump right in, but I've enjoyed starting to get to know you guys a bit. I hope to jump in a bit more once the new month opens. I'm still trying to figure out how all of this works -…
  • Well, I didn't make my goal...but that's ok - I still lost 7.8 pounds. :)
  • Hi everyone! I just want to introduce myself. I'm Lynn and I'll be joining you for the October challenge. I'm 46, soon to be 47 and I live in Wisconsin. I am a single mom, my son is soon to be 18. I've been on MFP a few times before...this time, since July. I've struggled with my weight pretty much my entire life and it's…
  • I'm so sorry you are feeling nauseous! That is absolutely NO FUN! I didn't experience that with Contrave. I would suggest calling your doctor and asking them what their recommendation is. Perhaps it will subside soon, or they may have a suggestion on how to combat it for the short term. Best of luck - I really hope it goes…
  • I've been able to switch from Jello to sugar free Jello, no problem - I don't taste a difference. But I also love a good pudding cup. :) But OMG, sugar free pudding - it tastes like I'm just giving up on life. :( I have 11 more sugar free pudding cups in the fridge...either I will have gotten used to them by the time I am…
  • @conniewilkins56 Thanks so much! I'm so glad to be here - clearly I'm learning new things already! ;) Today I just hit my first 25 pounds lost - so I'm pretty excited about that. I have lots more to go...so, hopefully you have room for another Loser at the table. ;)
  • @MuttiNM Honestly, I thought MFP readjusts calories when it is appropriate - I didn't really give it a second thought. But now reading your response above, I kinda freaked out...I went thru the goals and had it recalculate my calories and sure enough, it dropped them, just over 5 calories per pound I've lost. I had no idea…
  • @bmeadows380 Thanks - I'm excited to be here and meet you guys. I think this group will really be able to help me out - in many ways! And you personally have done an awesome job - congratulations! It must be so exciting to be so close to that first major goal you set - how awesome!! You'll crush it in no time!! I'm excited…
  • Thank you! I'm excited to get to know you as well! :)
  • I understand and respect what you are saying. At this point though, I can't change the goal to "healthier" for the very reason you stated, "I am healthier today than I was yesterday". So for me personally, when things get tough, I'd see that as permission to stop because 'yeah, I've taken off 30 pounds and because of it,…
  • Hi everyone! I'm not sure how many times I've tried to lose weight before - I had a semi-successful run 2 1/2 years ago when I lost 55 pounds. But then I let life get in the way and I gained it all back - and then some. I let everything else take priority and always put myself last, it's what I'm good at. So this year,…
  • I've sent a FR to you both!
  • My NSV today...the mirror. I've always hated the mirror and what I saw when I looked in it. Today I walked by the mirror, accidently caught a glimpse of myself and I came back, paused, took a second look and smiled. Not because I'm happy with how I look - but because I'm happy with some of the changes that I'm…
  • I'm so glad you are finally at the point where you are able to take care of YOU! You deserve this. Sounds like you are determined to do this - can't wait to see how far you go!
  • I was on Contrave a couple of years ago. I was on it for about 5 months and lost about 55 pounds. I feel like it definitely helped me with cravings!! And it's funny, I often wondered if it was really working, or if it was me that was just making better choices. Well, life got in the way and I stopped taking the meds, I…
  • I have been a soda addict for years - decades really. I used to drink numerous cans of Coke a day, within the last couple of years I switched to Coke Zero which was a step in a better direction. Sadly, I didn't really back off on the quantity that I was drinking and I was still consuming A LOT of soda in a day. Since I…
  • That's awesome progress so far! Keep it up!! I'm not too far behind you - and I completely understand the struggles!! Feel free to add me if you like!
  • I'd like to lose 12 pounds and get out of the 300's by my birthday next month.
  • I have been on Noom - it was cute at first, but then I was incredibly annoyed by it. It was teaching me things that I already knew, so I didn't find it particularly helpful in that respect - but perhaps if I had stayed with it longer, maybe it would have given me some new, useful info. I didn't find the support person they…
  • I would also suggest you look at any emotional issues that may lie underneath. It is incredibly helpful to understand what your relationship is with food. Talking with a therapist may also be a great addition to your weight loss team - along with your surgeon and dietitian.
  • You are more than welcome to add me! Personally, I've got 16 pounds down, and LOTS to go...and I know I'll need help along the way... I'd love to support and learn from each other!
  • This is my second time (or is it my third?) back to MFP. I've been back for just over a month and I would love some extra support - and would love to be there to cheer you on as well. Feel free to add me if you are so inclined. I wish you the best!
  • I am SO glad that you are taking care of the mental side of your fitness journey - it is too often overlooked! I overlooked it in the past - this time, I am not. There is no one right way for everyone to reach their goals, we just have to do what is right for us. And I'm so glad that you are finding what works for you. I…
  • Well I think it depends on where you are starting from. So what may be noticeable to others, may not be noticeable to you, and vice versa. Taking progress photos is a great way to see your progress. Also, try looking in a different mirror - if you are always looking in the same bathroom mirror, your mind is used to seeing…
