Roasted lentils added to pasta or a salad help bring the protein content up. My two year old daugher and I love them, particularly with nutritional yeast.

Why are there so many negative responces? It's just a fun science question. Charred food would result in fewer calories. That stands to reason just based on how calories are determined. Any recipes from Mcdougall, Ornish or Esselstyn who recommend a no added oil diet. They are vegetarian plans, but if you eat meat you could add that to many of their recipes.

I measure the precook weight by the package specifications. Some kernals don't pop, but that shouldn't be a big difference. Soy sauce and nutritiotional yeast are awesome on popcorn.
