As you get closer to your healthy weight it gets tougher. Its only natural, the smaller you get the fewer calories you require making your deficits smaller. I've been working on my last ten pounds for a year. Finally made the right adjustments and have managed to lose a pound and a half in the last two months. Getting…

I log all my food for breakfast, lunch and any snacks. That gives me a delta for dinner. If I somehow got in some extracurricular eating in during the day I know its going to be a light dinner. I find this helps a lot knowing what I have left going into the evening.

From San Antonio myself and an Astros fan as well!

Ostrim Beef and Ostrich Snack Stick. 80 Calories and 14 grams of protein. Nice way to add some low calorie/low fat (1.5 grams) protein and satisfy my mid-morning hunger issue.

Been running for 30 years. Also love trail running. Add me if you want to talk running!

A Texan born and raised. Living in San Antonio. Just trying to eat right and lose a few extra pounds.
-
Exactly what I have been trying to do. Have 8-9 pounds of fat I need to get rid of. And it is tough.
-
Been doing some kick boxing twice a week my self. One heck of a workout.
-
My goals are exactly the same. Working hard to lose about 9-9 pounds of fat and hold on to every bit of muscle I can in the least and add some at best. It is a slow road getting lean at our age but i know it can be done.

Another San Antonian here.

Retired after 20 years in the AF. Work hard to stay in shape and try hard to eat right. Seems to be working but like most others not perfect. If that's even possible.

@MobyCarp . Sounds logical to me. Even though I try hard to maintain a steady pace, without doubt there are fluctuations throughout the run even on a relatively flat route, which I do not have many. I run a lot of hills as I have no choice were I live. I actually enjoy them as it makes running a flat course a little easier.

Run at least three times a week with a "long" one on the week end and do the kickboxing thing twice a week.

I have the same issue. A standard weekday training run outside for me is a 10 min mile. Which is 6mph. There is no way I get to 6mph on my treadmill. It feels like I am sprinting. Just by "feel" it seems I am good at about 5mph on the treadmill. It just feels the same as my pace on the road. I keep my treadmill at an…

Thanks for the info. Sounds good to me. Especially since I may be trying to some tri's this Spring and Summer..

Hey Freya, welcome to the group. Also, tell me how that 225 is working out as I am thinking about getting that model. Cheers!

Sport Suds is the best stuff. I sweat a lot. During the summer I was soaked every day. Since I started using this stuff everything smells fresh and clean. I even leave my stuff in the washer all week to do one big load of work out stuff. It takes a few washings but will even get the stuff that already has a set-in stink…

Also a consummate middle of the pack runner here. Done many half marathons and 10ks, and love to run the trails. Anyone can add me if they like to talk about their running and eating or whatever.
-
Yea. I get it. I'm a runner also and recently spent some time in Germany when my wife was deployed there. Now I'm in need of losing the eight pounds I gained there. A few races coming up in preparation for a long tough trail run in January.

San Antonio guy myself!

Trail runner myself. Although finding it hard to hit the trails lately but still running. And logging in order to drop a few extra pounds. trying to get ready for my big annual tough trail run in in Bandera Texas in Jan.
-
Yea. Exactly why I left a few months ago. Giving it another go.

Just an old guy trying hard to stay healthy. Run several times a week but I am also really moving toward working the body from a more functional level using a lot of bodyweight exercise, calisthenics, and kettle bell. And also trying to work in some weekly yoga.
-
Just came back to MFP. Run and workout and work hard at eating right. Would enjoy talking to anyone about running, exercice, food etc.
-
Have run many halfs myself and many 25k and 10k. Last year was tough due some scary heart issues but am back and training for my next half hopefully in Nov with a 25k trail run in January.

Been running for years. Has helped my struggle with anxiety a great deal. Also spend time throwing around kettle bells, doing body weight work and just about anything to do resistance work. Need any support just let me know .
