I drink some version of lemon water every day, pretty much all day. I always have a glass near me that I sip on. I have never noticed a single difference or "boost" or anything. I just like the taste.

Now....I should add a disclaimer....there are many that will say making "sun tea" is dangerous and there have been studies to prove that. I personally have been drinking tea like this since I was a very small child and never had an issue, but that doesn't mean the potential risk is moot. Supposedly there are safe ways to…

[] Milk (what type?) - Mostly unsweetened almond milk, but I keep 1% on hand for certain things (like cereal) [] Some other type of tea (please state what it is) - Unsweetened Tradewinds tea [] Protein shake - I make protein shakes with almond milk and Trutein powder [] Infused fruit water/sparkling water - This is my main…

I would say Halo Top, Luna (I love their protein bars), La Croix sparkling water and Trutein (or Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard) for protein powders. I also really prefer King Arthur flours when baking or making pizza crusts. I have tried different brands, but there is something about the King Arthur stuff that just bakes…

Sweet tea, when made correctly, is basically the nectar of the gods. I didn't grow up in the south, but my Grandma is from southern appalachia and makes her tea on the porch in the summer. Sweet lord is it good. She has a gallon size mason jar, puts a punch of tea bags in it, lets it steep in the sun and then adds about…

Mine would be similar, but swap the shrimp for some lobster/scallops and for dessert some warm from the oven chocolate chip cookies and a big glass of ice cold milk.

Same here. Because brussels sprouts fried in bacon fat with some salt is amazing.

I use flax seeds in all kinds of things. I add them to pancake batter, waffle batter, homemade breads, into my oatmeal, on top of cereal, I have used as part of a bread crumb mixture for meatloafs, coatings for chicken, etc. You really don't taste it and it easily blends in with any kind of grain type product.

I would love to know what you think of the blueberry pie ones, I have been eyeing them, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I so wish I could do this. My husband does this for breakfast and lunch and I envy how easy it is for him. The longest I can go is about a week with the same thing over and over before I am going nuts. I hope one day I can get there. :) I guess I just need a lot of variety, but I hate it. I would love to keep it simple.

Define "superfood"..... I think Halo Top was a pretty super find and it replaced my Ben & Jerry's (for the most part ;) ). So, yes, Halo Top has helped me cut back on ice cream calories. But, every once in a while some Ben & Jerry's runs away from it's icy home at the grocery store and hitches a ride in my cart.

I absolutely think it is possible. Especially if you are exercising regularly and burning calories. I am losing steadily at around 1600-1700. I am also 5'4", but I have quite a bit more to lose. Go for it! You can always adjust after you have some data over a period of time to crunch. I try to review my calories, exercise,…

OP - it looks like you have found your answer in weighing your food. That always makes a big difference. Best of luck to you! For any other lurkers out there pondering the same thing....... I tried the lower end of the calorie range more times than I care to admit (like 1200-1300). I found I could do it for a few weeks,…

Ditto. I used to believe I was "addicted" to sugar, years ago. What I have learned during this whole health/weight battle is that it is less of an addiction and more of a habit/emotional attachment (Celebrating? Cake!! :) Bored? Bake Cookies! :) Happy? Ice Cream! :) Sad? Pie! :) etc, etc, etc.) Once I accepted that I enjoy…

This is what I have found. I roasted some on Monday evening and just had some for lunch, it tasted okay enough, but I think I will just roast what I need in the future. It is so much better right after being roasted. I will just use the remainder in a frittata. ETA - I have kept raw asparagus in my fridge for up to 10…

Thanks!! I will probably play it safe and just make enough to stick to @cwolfman13 72 hour rule. That seems reasonable. :)

Mint Chocolate Chip or Butter Pecan

I recently started using ON Amino Energy. I hit the gym after work and I have found it gives me just enough of an energy boost to power through my workout, with no added issues or side effects.

LOL!!! I so wish that were true!! I would go back to a time where I had not gained all this weight! ;)
-
I don't log any of it. I know I am easily getting enough in and it doesn't affect my calorie total, so I don't bother.

Same here!!! I love my bluetooth headphones but always carried my phone with because I thought the range would be too far.

I am obsessed with Old Navy's compression go dry leggings/crops. I have like 12 pair in different colors and have never had the "see through" problem. Every time I get a new pair I squat and bend over (in different lights) in front of my husband and make him check. :D

Gotcha....when I saw cleanse, my first thought was some kind of pills, woo or magic concoction that doesn't really do much.

My issue with restaurants isn't the sodium, it is more about having a harder time counting my calories because I don't feel like I am getting an accurate count (even when the menu states calories). Plus, I can usually make a similar menu item at home for less calories and I have more control over the ingredients. I have…

I have tried to refrain from commenting here because this hits too close to home. OP, I have been in your wife's shoes, I have heard things from my husband that stung (while accurate), I have also had miscarriages (no living children) and I know exactly what it is like to be on the "other" side of this scenario. The advice…

Never. I am a rebel. >:) In all seriousness, I get about 3-4 servings of veg on a good day and maybe 3-4 servings of fruit a week.

Not really, but I think when you add the salsa the extra juices kind of help take care of that. I usually make these on Saturday or Sunday and my husband is still eating them the following Friday.
