  • Get some 100 calorie sandwich rounds. You can add 1 egg and a slice of cheese, vegetarian meat with lettuce and tomato, or toast it and eat with mashed avocado.
  • Plan for your weaknesses. Enter your food plan before you eat. Allow for a serving of the foods you crave a few times a week, measure out a serving onto a plate, and enjoy.
  • Argh! I can’t find the calorie count on a man’s face anywhere! How can I add that to my food diary?
  • Cook chopped garlic and half a chopped onion in olive oil until tender. Add 1 bag of ready to eat spinach. Cover and let wilt. Add one can of un-drained chic peas. Season to taste with any combination of the following: cumin, tandoori seasoning, turmeric, garam masala, curry powder, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper,…

  • I know how you feel. My back went out again, and after a week of being very sedentary and with nothing to do to pass the time but eat, I gained five pounds last week, too. It’s very depressing because it took me six weeks to lose that five pounds, and only a week to gain it. But I’m looking on the bright side. If I hadn’t…
  • Tough situation. You should continue to stock the cupboards with healthy foods and cook healthy. There are studies that show that typically, once one eats something several times, one actually starts to crave it. If the food is prepared and smells good, he will eat it, and you ignore his complaints. It is the change that…
  • I have no personal experience with this, but just a few ideas... Always go back for seconds. Drink some calories. Like most of us on a diet, you probably only drink water. Chai tea is yummy! Or maybe have some hot chocolate or chocolate soy milk. Or drink a V8 with your meals. Switch from the diet varieties back to the…
  • If I make $10 per hour, and it takes me an hour to shop, prep, cook and clean up from a meal, the cost of my meal is the cost of ingredients, plus the power consumed to cook & clean, plus my hour. Therefore, if I can purchase a fastfood meal for $5, and spend my hour working to make $10 instead, it is therefore in my best…
  • No worries. It took a few weeks for my weight and appearance to change. Give your body time to adjust and just keep working at it. You will get results in the end. Periodically, it will seem as if my weight loss has stalled out, then in a few weeks, I will have lost some more. Don’t weigh yourself too much. I weigh myself…
  • I can't help you with the belly fat, but to get a nice fitting wedding dress, buy a dress that is too big and take it to a tailor. He/she can take up the parts that are too big. I always have that same problem with dresses!
  • Every time you start to over eat some junk food or skip a healthy meal, ask yourself, what would I want my son to do? You are the one who is teaching him how to eat.
  • You may be overreacting. He may just really want her approval, so he’s trying too hard. I wouldn’t assume the worst just based on facebook. Does it creep out your daughter, or just embarrass her? If your daughter doesn’t feel uncomfortable, then there is nothing to worry about. Ask her and just keep your eyes open for real…
  • Watermelon is my life savor. Very few calories for a lot of food. Keeps me feeling full between meals.
  • I just accepted the fact that one day a week, I’m going to blow my diet, and so I give myself 1 free day. (Hey, it’s better than two, right?) On that day, I try to eat the amount of calories recommended to maintain my weight, so that I don’t ruin my hard work and gain. Allowing myself to have whatever I’ve been craving all…
  • I take a cheat day once a week. My advice is to calculate the calories to maintain your weight, and eat that amount of calories on your cheat day so that you don't undo your hard work. Do log it. It helps you to understand just how many calories are in those treats, so that you appreciate the days that you eat healthy.
  • I picked sedentary, but I literally sit all day, only getting up a few times per day. I am also very inactive at home, due to my health. If you choose sedentary, you have to log everything you do, including cleaning your house. It really is a judgment call.

  • Chocolate Shake, 2 cups of yummy for only 218 calories 1 cup frozen banana slices 1 cup fit & active vanilla soy milk 1 tbsp baking cocoa 1 pack stevia Blend in a blender until smooth. Keeps me out of trouble. Also, Fit & Active protein bars make a double chocolate that taste like a candy bar. 180 calories, I think.
  • As a variation, you can make it with a non frozen banana. I top mine with peanut butter and a little honey. Then microwave it for 30 seconds. So yummy.
  • You need to find some foods that you can eat a large serving of, but they don't have a lot of calories. You can eat 2 cups of watermelon for under 100 calories, or you can eat a smoothie made from 1 cup Fit & Active Vanilla soy milk and 1 cup frozen fruit for under 200 calories. For lunch, eat large portions of veggies. An…
