It's an annoying bug. It's only been around for years so maybe they'll fix it one day......or not. As Catt says, even if you're recording lower weights it only actually updates your calorie allowance if you change your goal. So every time you log a new weight go into goals, change your target weight loss per week to…

I get up at 5:30 and start workout about 6. Even if I had time to eat I wouldn't want to that early. I drink a glass of water on waking up and then just use water for anything up to an hour's workout. Eat afterwards when it's very welcome! If you struggle without food you could always try upping your evening carbs a bit…

If you were coming from no running at all I would say it's a bit of a push (to do it well I mean) but you have solid run experience behind you so it's definitely doable. Obviously the one issue is your knee but you're not stupid (I think? :) ) so taking it slowly should be good.

Hi OP (in case you come back......) I was on Prozac for about 18 months and during this time I gained about 5 stone. It's important to note, though, that prior to the depressive episode I had actually lost 6 stone and was extremely active doing a lot of sport and I went from this to nothing almost overnight. The Prozac…

I think if you upgrade to Premium there's a button you can press to turn all the numbers green. And a team of fairies will surround you and shower you with stars. And you'll lose weight without eating at a deficit. And you'll poo actual gold!! And the moderators will behave reasonably.

Your mind is like a bad friend, it will remember every single thing you did wrong and will not hesitate to throw it back in your face at every opportunity. "You can't do this, you tried before and failed", "Just give up, we both know you haven't got it in you", "Why are you even going to bother trying to stop drinking?"…

I decided to switch to maintenance a few weeks ago because I had a lot of boozy weekends coming up. I still intended to exercise to really get my calories up but I knackered my Achilles so I've done virtually nothing :s however, my weight hasn't really moved. Sure, it's not gone down which is disappointing BUT most…

I've always thought you were actually a yellow pyramid but look, you're a real person!!! ;) Phenomenal job, well done you xx

Lol, i did this as well. I used to watch the 5,000 metres and the 10,000 metres on the track and think jeez these races are so long it's crazy. And then I too did triathlon and I was like oh that's a 5k and a 10k....... I run in km/h because I can't visualise running distance in miles but I bike in miles per hour because…

This! The number of times in the past years that my "Christmas" eating and drinking has started on December 1st is depressing! As someone said on another thread, it's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year that makes you fat, it's what you eat between New Year and Christmas. Wise words :)

Is there any reason you can't keep doing that? I do 3 spin classes a week and they're great for calorie burn. If you have a bike you could look at getting a turbo trainer to ride at home. There are plenty of cycling dvd's or downloads available

What's your calorie goal if you change to maintain your current weight?
-
Most people seem to have covered it but you're viewing this weight loss journey as a phase and you don't seem to have considered what you will do once you reach your goal. In another 9lbs what then? Now sounds like the perfect time to consider the transition to a "normal" life. One where you continue to live and eat…

Fresh, homemade bread, straight out of the oven........with butter........and relax!

Great job  The rugby world cup starts next Friday so I'm going to be calorie banking for the first time ever during the tournament as I will be away nearly every weekend having a few sherbets! Glad to hear it works!!

Different Kravitz I hope http://www.drlenkravitz.com/ Although hopefully he still plays music

I went away for a week recently and lost two pounds. It's possible. I switched MFP to maintenance, continued logging everything, tried to exercise as much as possible, didn't go crazy with alcohol and finally (and I think this was the key for me) I ate pretty small breakfasts and lunches (enough food though, I wasn't…

Pictorially I would say I'm just above 30% and my Withing scale says 31.7% so that'll do for me :)
-
OMG that looks amazing. Please send me some :)
-
LMAO sorry

They're amazing! I took this picture one day when really hungry, sent it to my wife saying HELP! She replied "Move away from the weird jizz covered snacks!" Lol, that did the trick

Clearly not 200 calories though

I'll see your "American" donuts and raise you a butterscotch pecan yum yum!!!
-
Firstly, how much are you trying to lose? Your current weight is already in the lower half of the healthy weight range for your height and age. Your deficit is aiming to lose 2lbs a week, this is way too high for your weight. You should be looking at around 0.5lbs per week. Also, if you're only eating 1200 calories and…

Lol I was going to quote that.....

With regards to OP, I still go out a lot but I make better choices. Steak without a sauce, pizza without fat dripping toppings, couple of glasses of wine instead of two bottles! I try to match something from the database if it's not in there but overestimate always. After a while you can get a reasonable handle on roughly…

I think if you're overweight and you haven't tried several traditional "diets" then you're very lucky. Mainstream thinking is that to lose weight you have to cut out all the "good stuff". Of course nearly all people following this mentality will find it doesn't work as a long term solution. I haven't read a single diet…
-
Totally agree! If you go into this half hearted the food will always win. You have to want to succeed so much more than you want to over eat then the decision to leave the pizza, cake, donut etc alone is much easier. It's hard to begin with but the longer you do it the easier it becomes. You CAN lose weight, you CAN do…

In fact when I do cycling endurance events I work on the basis of approx. 750ml of fluid per hour (which is one drinks bottle)
