Sometimes your body needs a break... maybe you are moving less outside of your workouts (N.E.A.T.). However, based on your calorie estimate, something is wrong. That would be far too few calories and you would definitely be losing weight.. so I suspect your calories are higher than you think. Once you sort out your…

first of all i'm nowhere near my thinnest but i agree, it's easy to set that as the goal but why should the goal be that? Fit, focused me of yester-years only attained that number for the blink of an eye, so what right do I have to envy it now?

Agree and disagree. Of course it comes down to calories, however, sugar is the devil. I beleive we are more likely to overeat when we consume a diet that is high in sugar, rather than a healthy balance focused on fats, proteins and fibrous veggies which keep us full and blood sugars stable.

That's a nice idea but unfortunately there is a lot of sugar in things that others may not expect. If you are eating anything processed (canned, bagged, boxed, jarred) then you need to read the label. I may only eat cookies when I feel the need (which isn't true, haha) but if I am not reading the labels on everything I can…

I’m always amused by recipes that call for bay leaf. But I still use it to amuse myself. “Add then remove ...for zero added flavour” IMO

not sure if you have any goals beyond weight loss.... but for weight alone, just track everything accurately and do your best to track it before you eat it. If you do that and you want to succeed, you'll start making the choices that work for you (be it more veggies, smaller portions, low carb, IF, whatever...) I don't…

I don't know if this was meant as a reply to me... I agree it's not healthy to starve yourself, which is why I said that people's comments can be toxic. We shouldn't congratulate the symptoms without caring to understand the cause.

Same here. There are certain foods I just can't enjoy at home. I only bring home the powdered peanut butter. I can give things peanut flavour but its not nearly delicious enough to binge on. I can also relate to needing to destroy things.... usually the last few bites of an entire tub of ice cream. I know it's either down…

Hi Andrew - remember any good change will result in a positive outcome. Any calorie deficit will make you lose weight... any extra movement in your body will make you healthier. Don't do more than you can handle and start slow.... progress is a huge motivator once you form new habits. Good luck and don't get too…

I guess raw could weigh 1.5X more than cooked a very exact and specific way... wherein if you calculated raw calories... then wanted to eat only a portion of cooked and recalculate... you could estimate that the cooked weight is around 75%. However, I really feel this isn't necessary or the most accurate. Weigh raw and…

Wanted to delete me post but can only edit it :p

Firstly, I think (most?) of us know when our weight is creeping up regardless of whether our yoga pants still fit. Secondly, even fairly restricting clothes can stretch a bit until one day you have no choice but to buy a size up next time. I can't imagine too many people who keep squeezing into the same clothes year after…

Yes, all of those things make you retain water, exercise included. When you exercise, your muscles hold wataaa. :)

Lmao damn. Just ate a cookie at double tree last night :(

Any women around 5’9 and 170? It’s on.

There’s a brand called SoCial Lites. They do vodka soda (various flavours) or spiked iced tea in a can. 80-100 cal per. I am not a fan of vodka but I have tried and they’re pretty good, but light. If i am drinking I just avoid cocktails and enjoy myself. Full calorie dry wine or cider for me.

big congrats!!!!

lmao. to the point.

i love me spicy fried chicken. Popeyes does the trick.

Lol, above is the one I have, 18 oz. allows me to spice with less reservation, although I certainly don't use cups at a time. I also didn't realize that cinnamon can have so many calories! (again, not sure if it's a concern for me).

I do think that even the positive comments can be really harmful. It can often make us feel that we are more worthy now than before (we always were!) and can reinforce unhealthy behaviours. When I am starving myself and people are congratulating me, it’s encouraging me to continue but not really helpful. I thibk generally…

I think these are all good answers. You basically have the choice to try to freshen up physically, or freshen up mentally. If you decide you’re happy with the way you are physically and mentally now, there’s nothing else to do but try to stay away from people who voice their assumptions. There are people woth a lot more…

I was really expecting the opposite because that’s what my partner is... he doesn’t like it when I don’t indulge and I feel that any time he notices my hard work paying off.... he bring over boatloads or sweets. I can’t resist! The only way to prevent it is to really hammer into him that this is what makes me happy and to…

I truly think that we don’t realize how much more we eat when we grab snacks or convenience items, or go back for seconds. When you eat only three big meals a day, it can be a lot less food and calories, even though you feel like you’re indulging.

I think that knowing the right texture; when to char, etc., as suggested above, is important. However, I also believe that you will acquire a taste for veggies the more you incorporate them into your routine. I love vegetables. Another tip not yet mentioned: how big or small you cut your veggies affects the taste and…

I love it. i refer to my two digit numbers as "decades" and I'm happy to say I entered a new decade this morning! I like having that extra milestone. Cheers!

if total abstinence doesn't work, try a substitute. Maybe a kombucha will satisfy your need for something cold and tangy?

I'm well on my way. CW: 178.6 It's starting to look like the goal will come down to persistence. Get it off, keep it off! :)

I’m well on track! Challenge Start Weight: 186 CW: 178.6!
