I'd recommend a HR Monitor! I have a FitBit Blaze and really like it. I also have a chest strap HRM through my gym and have worn both during workouts to compare and the HR being tracked are consistently almost exactly the same!

Hi there, I think I friended all of you but if not, I'm looking for more friends too! I'm a momma of a 2 year old girl and need to lose 100+ lbs. So far I'm at about 22 lbs lost over the past 3.5 months. I am looking for some accountability. I've lost 50lbs in the past but then got lazy and gained it all back plus some!

That's a great point. I've been losing about the rate I expected so the lower number probably makes the most sense to stick with. Thanks!

Makes sense, thanks!

It's a group training class most of the time. Similar to Orange theory fitness where it's a mix of treadmill work, rowing and various strength training

Any sort of heart rate/calorie tracking if they're all "wrong" and guessing wildly.

Interesting, thank you for your response!

Then what's the point?

That's very helpful, thank you!

But don't you burn less the more efficient and "elite" of an athlete you are as it relates to a specific workout since your heart rate stays lower? I'm definitely not an elite athlete, I have a lot of weight to lose so shouldn't be calorie burn be relatively high?
