  • This looks really good. I want to eat all of that!
  • That's what it is! Omg how bizarre! I think the cream cheese might have been just the rolled up sushi-like version that I saw... But I was wondering how the sprinkles would stick without it. I guess butter would work just as well, but I think cream cheese sounds tastier :) Now what about using chocolate sprinkles?
  • Totally white bread topped with sprinkles. It's like someone ran out of ice cream, but had a jar of sprinkles and a craving. I even saw a bento where someone rolled bread and cream cheese into "sushi" rolls, and topped it with sprinkles.
  • So, I have to ask, since people from all over the world are reading this... I look up other people's bento blogs for inspiration, and I keep coming across bentos that have bread with cream cheese and sprinkles... Is this really a thing? And where in the world do people eat this? And I'm assuming it is for kids?
  • Ahhhhhh. I think I've seen some of that on Amazon. After I move, I'm going to expand my bento inventory
  • Where did you order everything from?
  • Taco Bell, feta, ice cream sandwiches, pickles. I think all of these were mentioned already, but here they are again! On the flip side, I am shocked at how many calories bananas are. And olives.
  • Not really a bento? Maybe? Should I consider this "bento inspired"? Vanilla Greek yogurt with a strawberry, nectarine, apricot, banana, and granola. Ridiculously high in calories, but whatever. I wanted a fruit salad, so there.
  • WIN!!! I was thinking you would be doing fish sticks and custard. :) And I appreciate that The Silence have fallen via the wicked TARDIS of the east... Or something.
  • I'm really liking the little silicone cups of sugar-free Jell-O. They really solve the problem of "my bento isn't full yet, but I somehow already packed it up to my lunchtime calorie goal." The little cup of Jell-O is less than ten calories and takes up a decent amount of space - problem solved! In the smaller box is a…
  • Our local Mexican restaurants give you HUGE platters of food... I'm not sure what the place is like that you are going to, but if it is the same, I would ask for a box at the beginning of the meal, and portion out half of it to take home so you aren't tempted to eat the whole thing.
  • How long have you been at a "standstill"?
  • I would, just for a day or two, eat like you normally do and log it just to see how many calories you normally eat. Then continue to eat what you always do, but eat smaller portions to stay within your daily calorie goal. You don't need to totally change what you eat every day to lose weight. This is what I do. I eat all…
  • If you eat candy, save the wrapper to track it later. If I started putting candy wrappers in my pockets so that I could keep track of it, I would probably just stop eating candy because I don't want to keep holding onto all of those wrappers.
  • Wow. That's awesome. I especially love the "Bad Fish" detail. I officially think the MFP bento-ers are the coolest people I know. Now you all have a new challenge: create a Doctor Who themed bento.
  • I love the itty bitty pancakes. Did you make them, or are they a pre-packaged frozen thing? On a totally unrelated note, I had a cookie for breakfast today. Some days are better than others. Also, I'm going out for lunch with coworkers today, so no bento. Also also, I went to a weekly summer event here last night called…
  • What about planning some nice homemade meals for when he gets home? Something you can fit into your calories. It sounds like you don't get to see him often due to his job, so it could even be something "romantic" for the two of you. You could cook up chicken, steaks, corn on the cob, or veggies... You could make a huge pot…
  • Why would you want to stop? Lol! I eat 1200 calories a day + calories back from my activity tracker, and I manage at least one ice cream sandwich a day in there. Sometimes Fro-yo instead, sometimes green tea mochi. I can't stop eating ice cream and don't want to. So I guess my "advice" is don't stop eating it, but instead…
  • Truth... And now I will go back to drinking my tea... Or something that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
  • Roasted zucchini on top of ramen, soy sauce egg, strawberry Jell-O, apricot, Cheez-Its
  • I have experienced weight gain with birth control as well... But the pills themselves aren't causing the weight gain. They cause an increase in appetite. So the pills aren't making you gain weight - eating more is making you gain.
  • @sixxpoint I almost never meet or even come close to meeting the daily iron goals that MFP sets. Do you know how important it is to meet that every day? Should I be concerned and make some changes to what I'm eating in order to get more iron?
  • I stir fried the leftovers for a bento today... And I threw it in Tupperware instead of a bento box. Classy ;)
  • I probably only have one drink a week... Maybe a glass of wine with a nice dinner or a cocktail when I'm out with friends... But alcohol was a pretty easy cut for me when I started counting calories.
  • Not really bento, but you guys inspired me... I made homemade miso ramen for dinner!
  • I did the c25k running program a while back, and I felt really awkward my first couple runs too because I thought everyone would be staring at me and judging me for only running in short 30 second spurts and then walking. But I quickly realized that's not the case, and a lot of people in my neighborhood were interval…
  • I try to take a walk on my lunch break. For some reason, that little burst of exercise keeps me awake and energized for the rest of the afternoon.
  • Just make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories of cabbage or you will go into starvation mode. :p
  • You are awesome. :D
