I'm in! My knees may appreciate wall sits more than bouncing weight on them! LOL And though I'm not a fan of fruit and meat, could I incorporate the fruit into say oatmeal or with my sweet potato?

GiveMeCoffee is correct. Any doctor and most health studies will tell you that the average man needs at LEAST 1800 calories per day. 1500 would be the most restrictive and would be monitored by a doctor to ensure it's not putting undue stress on your heart. So have yourself a few more calories. The weight will still come…

Has anyone here heard of www.healthywager.com ? I just found it through another post and I'm seriously tempted to sign up! I love competition and this could help me win money to buy those new clothes I'll be sporting!!
-
LOVE the competition idea! You're actually competing with yourself and I think that helps remind us all that we can't compare ourselves to anyone else, this is OUR journey. Thanks for the info!!
-
Such excellent advice!! I agree with all of it, and have a wealth done a wealth of reading on nutrition that supports the concepts you outlined 100%. Thanks for outlining it in such a concise and easy to absorb format!

25 more jumping jacks down... holy cr*p! Thee things are just NOT getting easier! My poor overworked KNEES! lol

I have totally rocked my eating plan this week. In fact, on two of the days I actually had to put some effort into making it high enough on the calorie scale so I wouldn't fall below 1200! Yay me!! Now, my goal for the weekend is to keep with the 1 day eat-what-you-want plan, and to get a whole new shelf of yummies ready…

No jumping jacks yet, but I did make some tuna salad for tomorrow's lunch and dropped about 1/2 tsp in a Brussel sprout leaf that I had left from the brussel sprout chips adventure and it was YUMMY! So steamed brussel sprouts, baked crunchy brussel sprout leaves and little tiny brussel sprout leaf wraps! Goal 1 met!!

25 jumping jacks on the roof looking out over the beautiful pacific ocean. Only one neighbor could see, but he thinks I'm crazy anyway, so he just shook his head and laughed...lol Romaine lettuce in my salad for dinner tonight along with chicken and other yummies. Have a great evening everyone!

jumping jacks in the living room (boring, I know), and OMG peeled a bunch of brussel sprouts, spread the leaves, and spritzed them with olive oil, sprinkled some garlic powder over them and threw them in the oven until crunchy! DIVINE!!
-
LOL That's the spirit!!

I'm the same way. I do get hungrier by eating breakfast, but I am also better able to eat properly portioned meals if I start my day with a solid breakfast. I eat carbs and protein at breakfast and lunch, then try to limit my carbs towards evening. It works pretty well for me, though coffee trips me up ALL the time. Can't…

25 jumping jacks down... place: car port time: 0630 when the neighbors are all coming out to work response: lots of smiles and head-shaking! LOL
-
@shirayne I've been "practicing" these jumping jacks, and while my beat-down body does NOT thank you, I am thrilled that this has cleared up any misguided belief I had that I'm in decent shape for my weight! LOL This challenge is REALLY going to BE a challenge!

I had experience, waaaaay back in the day. I use to weight lift with my brother, he did it competitive, I just did it to be strong enough to spot for him. At that time, we ate like body builders. Minimum 5 times a say and ALWAYS a protein, a carb (usually rice) and at least one veggie. Strangely enough, I never had issues…

Oh dear LORD! 25 jumping jacks just proved to me that I'm no where near the physical ability I use to be (which i was sooo sure i still was!!!). My knees said to me, "really tramp? Don't expect much of us, do ya!" LOL. Ok, so that was 25 jumpin jacks in our carport at 4am... yeah, i looked like a lunatic to anyone…

Oh I'm in it to achieve it! So far I've got the spinach and brussel sprouts for the greens... do brussel sprouts count? Jumping jacks... and in 3 locations... now this is going to be interesting! LOL
-
I can't promise to do all the challenges, but my competitive nature makes me want to join in ALOT! LOL I'm in!

By way of introduction, my name is Michele and I have about 120 lbs to lose, BUT, and this is important to me FINALLY! I am on a journey, so the side goal is to lose 120 lbs, but the real goal is to change the way I eat and move. After 20 years of playing with this weight, I believe I'm finally on the right path and more…

Menu planning was a real issue for me. But... and this is just me. I started checking out meal prep on youtube and have started making sunday my cooking-for-the-week day. I make a big pot of wild rice and quinoa with chicken broth instead of water, I cook 2 or 3 kinds of meet (chicken on the grill, salmon on the grill, and…

I have a long way to go as well, and I have one piece of advice that I give from YEARS of experience. The worst thing any of us can do is quit because we don't do it perfectly. If I could lose an ounce for every time I quit doing what's good for me because I made a mistake I'd weigh in the negative! I've finally figured…

Well it's day 2 and although I ate some cookies I shouldn't have, I managed to only go over my calories by 93! yay me!! Hope everyone else is rocking it!

It's been bugging me for awhile now, but then the doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure and put me on med. All I could think was, "How did I let myself get to this point! I use to strength train and LOVED the gym!" I realize now that if I don't start living the life I want, I may not live any life at all.
-
Please add me! I have every intention of losing 120 lbs. and don't want to go it alone.
-
I'm new as well and need all the support I can get. I don't really have people around me that can act as cheerleaders, and none of my friends are interested in anything diet or exercise. Add me as a friend too!

Hi everyone.. I'm new to the group, but I can't resist this topic because confession is good for the soul. So I threw in a 33 min. Walk Away the Pounds dvd because I was too lazy to hit the gym, and 16 minutes in I was so beat I skipped to the cool down
