A losing argument. There will always be people hoping for the magical secret. I lost 70 lbs on herbal life 20 years ago when I was a teen with a roaring metabolism, but as soon as I returned to eating real foods the way I had always eaten they came right back.

These were all really sound tips! Congrats on your success!!

Wow, you've been super successful and believe me, there are these hidden crazy pounds that refuse to go away but finally fall off and take others with them. You'll get there!!!
-
What a great success! It seems like an absolutely herculean task, but I know it's not and I have to keep that in mind! I have 110lbs to go, and the idea I can knock almost half of that out in a mere 6 months... :::sigh::: it just makes me happy!

Hi and welcome Ardentoak. I have quite a bit too loose as well, so looks like our journey will make us neighbors. Let me know about that yoga video, I've been giving yoga some serious consideration, so you've piqued my interest!

I love this post trailgirl. Sometimes I forget the smaller goals, setting them, working them, remembering why they're important... And your timing couldn't be better. I weighed in today and I'm continuing my journey but 12 pounds heavier than when I started it last year. I was all set to be super upset and just down in the…

Oh Remoth, don't mention super bowl! Some genius showed up at my house with hot cheese & rotel dip and freshly cooked tortilla chips. Does anyone here know how many MILLIONS of calories are in freshly fried tortilla chips? Trust me, just say NO to them!! LOL. But, that slip aside, I think I'm doing alright so far.…

I'm SOOOO glad to hear that one of the early group stuck with it and succeeded!!! That's awesome ptkat! So happy for your success and am taking serious inspiration from you. It was less that a year ago that I was here starting the fight and now I'm back to try again and see you almost at goal. I'm going to be you next…

At least you're brave enough to get on the scale! I've been dodging that thing for about a month now. I don't think I can handle the truth yet.
-
Yay! I'm not alone here! Glad there are voices out there and others fighting the good fight. I'm working on getting back on plan. I'm doing really well with the eating plan, with dumb slips, but the gym is my struggle... As in I NEVER get there...

Wow, I don't remember this thread being so quiet!!! Where is everyone? I'd there a super hot thread out there that I don't know about?
-
That's awesome, Remoth! I have done both weight loss with and without exercise, and both work, so do what makes you keep going. 80% of the process is what goes in your mouth ;) keep up the hard work!

B) Yep, its a new year just waiting for new successes!
-
My sentiments exactly! Congrats on getting back on track!
-
This should be my motto! Congrats on the success so far!

Ok, so I've made it thru a week of logging, but still haven't got the nerve to get on a scale. I quit smoking Dec. 1st and gave myself full license to eat whatever in order to succeed, well I succeeded alright, I succeeded in quitting smoking and growing clean out of my pants! Oh well, moving on! I went back and caught up…

Ugh... I fell off the wagon and woke up in a food nightmare! But I'm back and hope this lesson will bring home my need to behave and be consistent! Hi everyone! Happy 2016!!!

Afternoon everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, but I have been crazy busy and not taking care of my goals the way I should be taking care of them. I'm hoping to get back in the groove during the coming week, though. I hope everyone here is still kicking butt! I'll be…

Morning folks! Back to work today after a seriously rough week with a pinched sciatic nerve. Wish me luck! And much success to you all this fine day!
-
OMG... I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. I'll have your family in my prayers. Take care of you, things will work themselves out. Have faith...
-
OMG, I feel like I've been gone for a MONTH! Sorry for that. After we finished our last audit of the year (YAY!!) I ended up pinching my sciatic nerve on Sunday so I've been down for the count all week. Pain killers and muscle relaxers have kept me happily drooling on the couch all week. I finally started feeling better…

Welcome Trupii!

Pkat28 is right, this is a great group and we all do our own thing here. I'm an absolutely FIRM believer in less calories in than what is needed WILL get you where you want to be. I also hit the gym at LEAST 3 times a week, but that is a more recent development. The first 2 months I was just focused on eating well and…

Just jumping in to say I'm still among the living and "working-at-it" group! I'm hitting the gym pretty religiously this week, thanks almost exclusively to my step-daughter, but my eating is B.A.D!!! Not the calories, just the garbage making up those calories! That being said, a calorie deficit is a calorie deficit, so…
-
I'm still holding on to my sanity with the very tips of my fingernails! I'm barely managing to keep up with the working out, thank GOD for my step-daughter who likes to go to the gym to keep boredom at bay. If it weren't for the fact I feel bad she sits here all day bored and waiting on me to get home so she can go to the…

Ugh... work is literally KILLING me. No time to log, no time to chat... thank God I'm still making it to the gym 3x a week. Hopefully things will settle down in the next 2 weeks and I'll be back on track. Much love everyone!!
-
Oh, I've been BAD this week! In am avoiding the scale until later when I have a week of decent eating under my belt! hope everyone has had a good week!
-
So far have done great on the eating, only one slip, but have to get in the stretching!
-
God love ya, Shirayne... I could nener NEVER give up my coffee! I'm like a junkie!!! LOL. But you're right, we CAN do this!
-
Oh, and my bad eating habit to dispense with this week is sweets. Cookies, candy bars, etc. I'll work them into my calories and I need to STOP!
