Fitbit Zip is only $59. Super affordable, gives you the social aspect of tracking steps via the fitbit app, and it's easy to clip on your waist band.

I'm doing my own version of the 21 day fix, because I can't afford the real one (and honestly would never pay for it anyway), but its totally helped teach me how to eat - and I use free online videos for the workout portion. It was a great introduction into "getting fit" for me. :) Might work for you?
