Depression can be very difficult to cope with, especially since you had so many major life changes at one time. People tend to remain very focused on themselves rather than others, especially when it comes to weight loss. Women DO notice weight loss in their friends/coworkers, but may not say anything due to jealousy,…

Sometimes friends and family become jealous or resist any kind of change when it applies to someone they love. It seems strange, but it happens a lot. My family accuses me of using drugs or having an eating disorder when I drop a few pounds instead of applauding efforts of diet and exercise. MFP friends are usually a lot…

I have similar stats. I don't lose weight if I eat my exercise cals back, but you might be different. If you're younger than I am, haven't had children, or generally eat healthy, you could probably still lose at a 1200 net. Play around with it and you'll find what works in a few weeks. Good luck!

I have found that eating a lot of healthy fat decreases appetite and stabilizes blood sugar. Avocados and cooking with olive oil are my favorite!

If you are concerned about losing volume in your breasts, don't go under 140. I am 5'3" and went from 190 to 120 (over the course of a few years). I literally had skin bags which is NOT attractive. I resorted to. . . ahem. . . artificial volume to correct the problem. Having surgery is not much fun and nothing beats real…

I also have some excess skin around my stomach, hips, and thighs. . . plus a ridiculous amount of stretch marks. I used to think I wanted surgery to remove the skin, but I have recently decided to just accept it and write it off as a closed chapter of my life. If excess skin is causing health issues like lesions decreased…

I am so sorry you are experiencing all of these stressors at the moment. It can be very difficult to stay on track when we feel depressed, anxious, or upset. A good frame of mind is key to motivate us to eat healthy and exercise. I have also experienced difficult circumstances in the past that have caused me to fall off…

It sounds like you are doing all the right things, it helped me to add more strength training, eat lots of fruits and veges, and throw out the scale for a few weeks. Taking pictures every couple of weeks also helps as we tend to not notice the changes in our own appearance. Good luck to you!

Hi there! I know how much of a struggle it can be to appreciate your new body after weight loss. I have struggled with this since the birth of my children, weighing about 13.5 stone (185-190 lbs) after delivery. Now at a healthy weight of about 8.5 stone (or 120 lbs), I still think I look the same as I did before the…
