I started in February 2015, and am down 38 pounds. I still have 42 more to go, but it definitely feels doable. I have been eating under 20g net carbs, mostly from vegetables. I have had some celebration days where I enjoyed dessert, and that was worth it:). I have so much more energy, that's the main benefit. I am…

I am insulin resistant and pre-diabetic, so low carb is a health necessity. That being said, I find it a pretty easy way to eat. I'm not nearly as tired (due to no blood sugar crashes), and I'm losing weight at a good pace. My blood work also looks great. You have to find a WOE that works with your body, and your…

Thanks, all! It is overwhelming and scary to be here, and to feel like I've so messed up my body. I haven't been referred to a a CDE, but I'm doing a very low carb way of eating now, and plan to stick with it. I'm having vegetables, but no grains, sweets or fruits, except for one day a week, when I loosen a bit on my…

Everyday. The fluctuations are normal, and expected, and don't stress me out. I have lost 33 pounds in three months, with 47 more to go. I think, even in maintenance, that every day weigh ins will work best for me. It's way too easy for me to be in denial without them!

I'm 5'4, 42, with a child and a rather large frame. SW--222 CW--191 GW--142 I will reevaluate when I get there, but that would put me at a healthy BMI.

I decided to eliminate most foods with added sugar for that reason. I highly suggest taking two weeks off from sugar, you might find it easier to moderate after that. Personally, for me, not starting is the only way to moderate my intake. I'm hoping I can eventually introduce it back into my diet in small, manageable…

I'm here, too. I started with 80 pounds to lose, am down 28 so far. I am doing low carb, because I have no self control when it comes to certain foods. And then I beat myself up over eating, and it becomes self defeating. I am 42, my daughter is 6, and now is the time, before I end up with diabetes. Would love some friends…

Would love more friends, especially anyone who may be doing low carb. Started with 80 pounds to lose, down 28.5 so far:)

I weigh and log daily. The trend is downward, so the up blips don't really bother me. I seem to have very little body awareness, so this helps keep me informed.

I usually have a salad, with protein. So, steak with blue cheese, or Mediterranean with chicken, feta, Greek dressing, or Mexican with taco meat, sour cream and salsa. Sometimes, in a rush, salad with one of those tuna packets, if I don't have any leftover protein from the night before. With full fat dressing, seems to…

I'm jumping in, too:). I started in February, with about 85 pounds to lose. I'm down 26 so far. Due to health and family history, I'm doing a fairly low carb eating plan. When I'm at work, and busy, it's fairly easy, but the evenings at home an be tough. Looking forward to sharing successes (and the inevitable tough times).

I started at 222.5 pounds, which wasn't even my heaviest:(. I am so tired of being embarrassed, and worrying about being able to participate in my daughter's life. Would love to have more friends, so feel free to add me. So far, I am down 25 pounds, and determined not to see 200 on my scale again. I need more motivation to…

I'm 42, and have a total of 80 pounds to lose. Since starting in February, I'm down 24 pounds. I'm mostly doing low carb, due to insulin resistance, and a family history of diabetes. I do great during the day (especially at work), but evenings are tough. I just started MFP 10 days ago, and I love the feedback:).
