not a great week so far. I had to go to the doctor & while the doc was nice, the nurse was really rude/disrespectful towards me, which kind of soured the whole thing - like it's hard to feel like you can trust people in that kind of environment, you know? worse still, i have to follow up in a few weeks. um... on the bright…

imo anything with no caffeine & no cals basically counts as water, so maybe try to do herbal teas? Or make flavored water at home - slice up some citrus/cucumber or get some frozen fruit and/or some fresh herbs (mint! thyme also works pretty well, as does rosemary) then add it to a big pitcher of ice water and keep it in…

True, but it's more the break in focus; I feel like it takes ~5 mins to get back to the same level of concentration each time I stop. I guess I could try keep reading when I stand up & see how that works.

Took a break to stand up every hour while I was reading. Idk it's hard tho - I definitely feel like I get less done when I take breaks so often. I guess it's just finding a balance? :/ Also, act of kindness: the person behind me at the cafe was $1 short on their purchase & the cashier had already rung it up, so I paid for…

Went for a bike ride today (I was inspired by the women's Tour of California)! It was so beautiful out - but the headwind on my way back made it a bit more work than I thought it'd be!

Hello everyone! I'm new here & new to mfp as well. My goals are first to get back up to a healthy weight & then work on getting stronger. Today's going pretty well in terms of how I'm feeling - the sun's back out after a cold & stormy week, some of my veggies are getting close to harvest, and I managed to get up early &…

I'm vegetarian, but once I'm no longer underweight I'm planning to stop eating dairy & see if I can safely cut out eggs.

Hi. No allergies/intolerance that I know about & no meds. I eat hardly any dairy, but a good amount of grains. I've made an appointment next week to see a doctor for a general check-up & I'm gonna ask about my diet/digestion/nutrition stuff as well, just in case.

I think it's really good that you're trying to get better. But iirc, it can actually be quite dangerous to up the amount you're eating too quickly & you might be better off doing what nuyritionbycat says & increase gradually by a couple hundred kcal til you get up to 1500-2000 & then up it by larger increments. Also, idk…

Thanks for the advice, you two. I was worried because it seems like everyone tells you that you'll feel better and have more energy right away if you eat more, but it sounds like my situation is fairly normal. I'm vegetarian and avoid dairy, so most of what I'm adding has been vegetables. I guess I'll try to eat more eggs…
