I can't wait! My oldest is getting married in October, and she told me the other day that I'll be a grandma within the next couple years--she said they're planning to wait six months to a year. I'm so excited about the wedding, and the prospect of a baby a year or two after is pretty amazing. :)

Way to go, Nightingale! It's only 5 p.m. here, and I've already hit my step goal for the day! Yay! This challenge is doing wonders for my fitbit stats--love it! According to my fitbit, I've walked more than 5 miles today, but only 2 count for this challenge since the other 3 were just from taking the long route to get…

I chatted with my daughter over thew weekend about starting to work on her wedding dress. I know she wants to focus on losing weight, but at some point, she's got to let me get started and have time to make her the dress of her dreams! She had a nightmare the other night that I didn't show her the dress until the morning…

My friends all love it, too. At work when someone walks by my desk, it's not unusual to hear someone call out, "Hey, Baby!". ;)

I'm assuming you're talking about your arms?? We call them Hey Babies at my house. :) There are exercises for toning triceps--I'm sure youtube would have some videos of how to do them.

My 5K was yesterday. Ended up walking more than 10 miles, according to my fitbit, and more than 5 miles of that was purposeful walking for exercise. My best day yet. I doubt I'll be able to match that anytime soon! LOL.

Thank you, Ashley! I'm looking forward to it, and it's for a great cause.

Thanks!

Julie, how wonderful! Congratulations! My next is only 19, so I'm hoping it's long time before I have another wedding in my family. LOL. Congrats also on losing more! You're on track. I can't wait to see the photos. I've decided I just need to start Emily's dress. I'm going crazy not working on it at all, so I have 6 yards…

Yesterday I got in a mile before work and then 3.2 at lunch. I'm feeling much more ready for the 5K this weekend. :)

It was several weeks ago that people were reporting on the NS boards that they'd gotten an email from NS saying they were going to discontinue it. But, it's still there, and I've gotten two orders since they said they were discontinuing it. I always have at least 10 in my regular order. I also order a dozen a la cart to…

Ashley, thanks again for starting this challenge. I'm loving it! I now I walk a lot during the day (and my fitbit can confirm that! LOL), but doing more than that is definitely making me feel great! Each day I find the time to purposefully (love that word!) walk at least a mile, and it's great for mind and body. I'm about…

Thank you, Julieanna. I would have enjoyed doing anything just because we were all together. We had a wonderful day, and I'll think back on it often, I'm sure. :)
-
Thanks, Ashley! I'm so thrilled my knee handled yesterday with no problem at all!
-
Thank you, Julieanna. We had a wonderful day! I'm feeling so much better. The bride is on the left and the maid of honor on the right. And, I'm in the middle in my two-sizes-smaller capris. LOL.

I did a four-mile hike today. Parts of it were steep enough that my fitbit credited me with 39 floors climbed! So, I just finished going up and down the stairs 11 times to get my next floor badge. LOL. I've been consistently getting in at least a mile a day--only one failure, and that was on Thursday. But, I was vomiting…

Happy Mother's Day, ladies! :)

Thanks, Bear. Yes, I'm down to a 14 now! :)

Like others, I use it mostly for zucchini and sometimes pour my NS entree over it after I've sauteed it and sometimes just sautee it with garlic and onions and eat it as a side. I love zucchini, so a new way to have it is great for me. I also love to spiral a cucumber and add some onion and vinegar and a tiny bit of Stevia…

I absolutely agree. I assumed going over calories was because of eating all the add-ins. On the 1500 plan, it's difficult for me to stay at 1500 while eating all my add-ins. Even if I were at a lower count at the end my day, that wouldn't give me license to eat whatever I wanted, certainly not when I'm trying to lose…

Erin, I'm glad you have your stepmother and MIL to help you out. I know it's not the same, but you have women who love you and that's at least something, huh? Julieanna, I hope you have a wonderful time at the Hen Party and I'm sending some extra willpower across the pond for you! :) Now go get on the walking machine!…

The garden party sounds lovely! I feel the same way about getting fit and healthy; my daughter's wedding was just the motivation I needed! I had total knee replacement 10 weeks ago, and I'm so glad I did! I'm in so much less pain than I was in berfore the surgery. It's amazing what they can do!

She's a rare one. I have another stepdaughter (her older sister) whom I actually haven't even talked with since her wedding 7 years ago. It's not that we're mad at each other, we just don't have the connection that Emily and I have had since the day I met her. I love, love, love that she wants a fanny pack! I think it's…

Absolutely! I'll let you know if I plan a trip. :) Will be going for a walk after my staff meeting this morning.

Welcome! Looks like we have quite a few of us who are DIYing at least some of our kids' weddings. Would love to see pictures of anything and everything! :)

NS didn't use to tell us how many calories we should be eating and the tracking tool didn't tell us either. You just ate your NS meals and add-ins and you lost weight. Now that they tell the number of calories, I've noticed some people get fixated on that number. What they don't tell you is it's really a range and the 1200…

Liz, good for you! Sending some energy your way! :) I have fitbit One and I love it. I'm on an 8-day streak of meeting my 10,000-steps goal. It's so motivating! It helps that I'm in a challenge to walk at least mile a day in May. A mile is around 2000 to 2500 steps, depending on your stride length. Plus, I have two dogs…

Yes, it's a bum bag. As soon as I read your first sentence, I thought, "Oh, I think they call them bum bags there." LOL. They're so incredibly out of style, but my Em thinks it would be fun, so who am I to judge, right? :) When she told me, her fiance just sat there and rolled his eyes. They're awfully cute together. Where…
