  • Definitely go out! I went out last weekend for an event that my friends and I have been planning for months. I did my workout in the morning, ate a big salad with lots of protein for dinner and set out. I had over my calorie count for drinks but spent 4 hours dancing and it seemed to all work out in the end. I jumped right…

  • See if you can find a low calorie option for the drinks you like or stick with iced tea or diet soda. If you don't want to do that you should just hit the gym the day you go and burn some extra so you can still go without the guilt. Keep track of what you're consuming--of course if you're going out dancing keep in mind you…

  • Wow Nora! Way to inspire. I am 5'8 and weighed in today at 186 (started at 197). Aiming to get down to 160 with calorie tracking and exercise and see how I feel from there! Feel free to add me
  • I'm not losing for my wedding--but I am losing for a friend's wedding next March in Thailand! I want to be at my best for that :) So if you don't mind that it's not mine I'm happy to be a motivator!!
  • Are you eating a good breakfast (high protein and fiber)? I find that keeps me fuller longer. Keep some good snacks on hand too so that you don't get too hungry (or hangry!)
  • Try really hard to just make 1 meal--it cuts down on the stress and feeling like you're denying yourself. If you're doing tacos (or chicken tacos) have yours in a hearts of romaine (like this) instead of a tortilla (I happen to like the crunch). Or if you're doing burgers, they have buns and you do yours on top of a salad…
  • Just for today I will: 1. Find time to go to the gym between work and meeting with friends (because I chose to sleep in this morning) 2. Make GOOD food choices within my calories at dinner while we're out.
  • My 2 cents: If you can go to Costco or a bulk food store and buy frozen chicken breasts (we get a 10lb bag for $25 at costco). If you're on a budget also try to grab a big bag of frozen veggies (mixed or broccoli if you like that). It pays off in the long run. Also keep an eye for when the things you do like (proteins…
  • We're doing this one found on PopSugar Fitness: http://www.popsugar.com/fitness/30-Day-Squat-Challenge-30806625 When I say "no problem" I really mean that I can do them and not get to the "oh god no more please" point. I still feel them and there's definitely a burn but it's working out well. I like the one above because…
  • Pretty good! Sore but that's to be expected... I was surprised at how it tricks you. The sets sound so reasonable and it drops you down in between days so that you get a little rest even when it's not an official "Rest" day. Definitely feeling stronger and can do the first 100 no problem!!
  • On day 21! Haven't done them today yet but never thought I would get this far.
  • I overindulged this weekend with my Mom for Mother's Day weekend but I knew it was going to be an issue. So Saturday before I went to get her, I hit the gym and did an extra mile on the machine and was careful with my calories until dinner. The next day we fit in a hike after our indulgent brunch and when I weighed in this…
  • You can absolutely do this. What kind of food are you eating? I've found that, for me, starting my day off with a shake keeps me full till lunch and helps me keep my calories down. Plus cooking/prepping lunches for the week. I know 11lbs seems like it might be slow but you got down 11lbs! Those 2lbs are going to come off…
  • Make sure you're getting enough protein and fiber which will keep you feeling fuller longer. I cleared our house of any bad tempting foods and made healthy snacks (cut up veggies and fruit that are easy to grab in the fridge and made kale chips and zuchini chips for the pantry... have 60 calorie jello chocolate mousse…

  • Thank you so much for all your help, guys. Good advice and really really helpful.
  • I am trying to lose 25 by the end of July so let's do this together! We can totally do this. I am excited to do it the right way too--to get more fit and be able to do more with what I got. Will send you a request!
  • I sent you a friend request--I totally know how that goes! Good for you for getting back on. That is one of my bigger motivators too. Birthday's in December and want to run into my 30s being much happier with myself and my body (and my fitness!). We can do it!
  • Try silky underwear dusting powder from Lush if you can get it. Rub it on and it gets rid of the chub rub if you're wearing a skirt or shorts for summer!!
  • GET IT. That is exactly the right attitude to have and thanks for being an inspiration! I've found for me that those binge days actually help keep me motivated for a good long while afterward too!
  • 100 calorie healthy choice Fudge bars are the way I go!! We buy the big box at Costco and it's there if we need a treat. The portion is enough to be satisfying as well as the creamy chocolate goodness!!
  • That is an excellent idea!
  • I bought a dress that I fit into the last time I got down to 170lbs but then never got to wear it before I gained up again... It's gorgeous and I would love to wear it again!
  • I don't think the OP was blaming the workplace but rather just pointing out how hard it is to resist temptation in an attempt to avoid it with the support of others who are surrounded by the same. It's great that you have the willpower ndj and I applaud you for it. For a lot of people it's a lot harder to make the right…
  • Thank you Sparks! That helped me too.
  • Thanks guys! I really appreciate your support. It's hard... but the important things are rarely easy! Woke up feeling a lot more inspired to keep going this morning so thank you all!
  • Sounds super odd but... Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake SUPER delicious and dense and filling. Depending on what your job is/if there's a fridge etc veggies and hummus or rice crackers and hummus is a good snack. Cheese and ham or cheese and turkey for a snack. Or making up a batch of gf muffins to carry on hand. If you make…
  • I absolutely cannot eat gluten (the consequences are heinous and long reaching) so I feel you on this. The past 5 years since I was diagnosed have taught me a lot about substitutions. Most days I go with what's naturally gluten free versus the pre-packaged stuff (which is high in fat and sugar a lot of the time). Things…
  • What kind of things do you like? Do you hate salads because you hate lettuce? I like to do a load of grilled veggies and then some sort of protein (chicken or turkey burgers lately). Or you can make lo-cal tuna salad and have in a lettuce wrap or portion down things you do like. I love leftovers for lunch personally!
  • This one is awesome in my mind... Had it almost every day for the past few weeks! 1 small frozen banana 1 cup cold water, 1/2 cup coconut or regular milk or soy or whatever 1 handful of spinach 2 tsp matcha powder, 1 scoop protein powder (i use Vega One green). Blend it up with some ice cubes (I like mine super cold).
  • About every other day. I like being able to keep an eye on the overall picture (even with basic day to day fluctuations). If there's a huge jump I know I'm not being as careful as I should and it gives me a push. I do weigh in first thing in the morning every time though.
