I think for many people, it becomes second nature to count calories once they've done it long enough - logging is no longer necessary for them. Portion control is probably a bigger problem - especially here in the US, because our restaurants serve such huge portions - often 3-4 times a true portion size. When I eat out, I…

I guess when I'm portioning out my calories for the day, I lean toward 2 reasonable meals (breakfast and lunch, because I'm just not as hungry earlier in the day) which might be 25-30% of my daily calorie allowance each, and about 35-40% as dinner. Exercise is my variable because I really can't exercise until evening, but…

Males can grow until they're about 25, so you may still hit your desired height! I think that really overweight people might see a bit of a change in height due to better posture and stronger back muscles if they've been getting fit while they're losing weight too!

I'm hypothyroid as well (although the standard tests have always shown me as borderline low normal) - and I'm realizing that I really will need to track what makes me feel better and what makes me feel worse. Sugars and sweeteners create all kinds of inflammation in me although naturally sweet foods (fruits, sweet…

I've dealt with panic attacks for almost 30 years now, and I feel a lot of empathy for what you're going through. First I would see a dr just to rule out something physical that might be contributing to the attacks - having iron deficiency anemia or low Vitamin B6 levels can make them worse and are so easily remedied with…

Nice loss! There's nothing wrong in having a slice of pizza, and a grilled chicken from Smashburger is less than 350 calories. I'm not a huge fan of Five Guys - the grease on everything is a little nauseating to me - but I'm sure they have some healthy-ish selections. I think the hardest part of losing weight is not…

There's a reason why those little epiphanies happen when they do. It's just your time to become amazing - you're such an inspiration! Best of luck on your journey :)

Best of luck to you! Just keep moving forward - those past attempts are nothing, y'know? What counts is where you go from here! Eat to nourish your body, participate in life to nourish your soul, and know that you will succeed!

I'm looking for motivated friends who are willing to try to help and keep me honest and on track. I'm interested in eating "clean", somewhat limited as far as exercise right now for myself (but willing to encourage others until I can do more) and would love to just have some fun while we're getting fit!! Please feel free…
