I’ve been training for the NYC Marathon on Nov 4th. I’m in the taper stages now and my legs are starting to feel good. I did a 22 miler 3 weeks ago, and I cant wait for the race to start. It’ll be my first marathon, I’ve done 6 1/2 marathons, including two this year.

Cheese sticks, sliced apples, pretzels with single serving cups of hummus, guacamole, or peanut butter, grapes and bananas have worked well for me for snacks to go with my lunches.

I switched to carbonated water and have the occasional soda when I’m eating out somewhere.

At the end of 2014 I came down with the flu. Went to the doctor and learned I weighed more than I'd ever weighed in my life. At the same time I realized that 2-3 pairs of pants with a larger waist size I'd bought only a couple months earlier were starting to get tight. I started walking, added in an elliptical trainer, and…

I got really sick and when I went to the doctor my weight was higher than it had ever been. On top of that, the larger size pants I had just bought were already getting tight. After being ill and in bed for a week, I realized my weight was only going to go up unless I did something. I hit my goal a few weeks ago and got a…
