  • Set a PR in the pool today; 1 mile in 39:33. Up through last month, I had never been under a 40 minute mile. I have swam 4 times this month and was under 40 minutes 3 of those times.
  • I had to get some new pants for work. I went down to a size 36. I've been wearing 40s for probably the last 20 years or so.
  • 38 pounds is amazing! I, and everyone commenting above is incredibly proud of you! Some people are just mean spirited; attacking others makes them feel better about their own troubles. They are probably projecting disappointment they have in their lives on you. I recommend either cutting out the toxic person, or perhaps…
  • Set a new swimming PR, 3500 meters non-stop. My previous PR was 3200 meters.
  • I swim 2000 meters a few times a week as part of my normal workout routine. Sometimes I will push it and do 2500, but that leaves me exhausted. I wanted to see how far I could swim without stopping and resting. I pushed myself one day last week and was able to get in 3200 meters. I felt like I could have kept going, but…
  • Congratulations! You're almost there! I'm right there with you. I was 204 on Jan 1st and just made it to onederland yesterday. Keep going!
  • Don't eat your dessert! I said that because you told me too. LOL I swam 2 miles yesterday evening. As soon as I got home, I had the sudden urge to go to McDonalds. I felt the same way...I earned the right to eat it. To be honest, the only reason I didn't is because I was too tired to get dressed out and go back out after…
  • Where are you going? It might help us answer your question if we knew the location(s) you are heading to.
  • Hi. Good luck on reaching your goals. Here are a few things that have helped me. 1. I moved the MFP app to the bottom row of my phone so that it is always on every screen. The thought was, the more I see it, the more I am likely to use it. 2. I have MPF set to send me reminder notifications to log my calories after each…
  • I weigh myself once a week, on the same day, and roughly at the same time. Too much life happens in a day and I don't want to feel guilty for enjoying myself one day when I can work it off over the next few days. Weight loss (and life) is a marathon, not a sprint. Anyone can do really good (or really bad) for a day at a…
  • Swim day for me. 1 mile in 41:23 with lots of stretching before and after.
  • Hi, I sent you a friend request.
  • Most of the Sprint Tris I looked at were 5ks so my first thought is a C25K program... I was thinking about that, but I was hoping to find a training plan that would incorporate all three components. Otherwise, I had just planned on doing each (swim, bike, & run) twice a week.
  • I have been swimming for quite a while. What helps me is getting into a pattern of breathing. Your breathing in swimming should be just like your breathing in every day life. You should always either be breathing in or breathing out. LAT1963 recommended every 3rd stroke. I think that would be ideal for me, but for some…
  • I like to play golf and tennis and love spending time with my kids. I really enjoy karaoke too (like most of you above), but I have to be somewhat intoxicated to get up the courage to do it. My singing is really terrible. LOL
  • Awesome! I climbed the first half of Mount Fuji from the base to the 5th station and back yesterday. It was 17.2km, 28,505 steps and the equivalent of 270 flights of stairs climbed. This was a warm up for the full climb. I will climb from the base to the summit and back next month.

  • Denise, I am really looking forward to this. I am an accountant, so I spend most of my day sitting in front of a PC slumped over spreadsheets. I had already made some significant changes in my daily routing in this regard over the last couple months such as parking farther away from work, using the stairs instead of the…

  • Welcome back! I've been on and off of here three or four times. I always make great progress when I can commit to consistently logging my calories and I enjoy the interaction through the MFP community. Best of luck!
  • Born in Baltimore, moved to Georgia when I was a kid. Joined the military at 18 and moved 11 times over the past 24 years. I'm currently in Tokyo, Japan. Konnichiwa!
  • Yes, been to many. HYE lived in a foreign country?
  • Welcome to the site Mallet_71! MFP is just like with everything else, you won't get any more out of it than what you put into it. I've been using this site off and on for several years and have gotten some great results at the times when I was fully committed to logging everything. It also helps to add friends on here that…
  • Yeah I saw that you called. I just didn't want to talk to you. Actually, I still don't. I would have finished this project three days ago if I didn't have to have a daily meeting with you to update you on the status. By the way, those meetings wouldn't take nearly as long if I didn't have to teach you 1st grade level…
  • Your e-mails are always so insightful, perhaps we should ask Microsoft to create a Crayola font to match your level of intelligence.
  • I've been considering starting Keto for a couple of months now. Any recommendations for how to get started? There is so much information out there that it is kind of overwhelming. For those of you that have been successful, how did you start? Please feel free to add me. Thank you!
  • Governmental accountant. I did a similar job during my 24 years of active duty in the Air Force. Pretty boring now, but had a great time on active duty and have been to some really cool places.
  • I am in! (and feel free to add me!) April 1st weigh in: 214 May 1st weigh in: June 1st weigh in: July 1st weigh in: August 1st weigh in: September 1st goal:189 Ultimate goal: 185
  • I spent 24 years in the Air Force and moved 10 times. I've lived in several states and have traveled to most of the rest of them. I have lived in Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Cyprus and have visited several other countries throughout Europe and Asia. I met my wife when I was in Japan and currently live on the outskirts…
  • Hi everyone and good morning from Tokyo, Japan. I'm 44 and would be happy to have more friends on MFP for mutual encouragement. Please add me if you'd like.
