Does your treadmill have a cord on? The ones at my gym do, and you can clip it to your waist band, then if anything happens (like you slip or miss place your footing) its like hitting the stop button, and the treadmill stops quickly... I get up at about 5 twice a week to fit exercise in. the only way to cram more into my day was to make it longer! As others have said the evenings are usually taken up with kids, cooking, getting ready for the next day. So the early hours are "spare" time that I can make use of. I dont even really notice the early starts…

Hi 38, 5ft 5 CW 120 Trying to find my maintenance calories, and looking at about 2000. I lift 3 times a week, run 4 times, about 4 miles each time, and usually do a circuits class.

I work out in the mornings when I can. I like having it done for the day, and see the calorie gain from my runs.

I lost mine too, and fitbit customer services recommended going round with the device its synced with as it may pick it up... Didn't with me but wasn't totally sure where it was. Hope that helps. :) Didn't mean to post twice

Another mum of 2. I get up early on my work days (5:30 ish!) to fit workouts in on those days, and then fit runs in when I can. I try to have a "schedule" so my husband and I know when we want to go to the gym/ go for a run. We found that without booking times with each other for when we would go then it was harder to find…

I'm doing about 3 x lifting workouts of about an hour each, and 4 runs of about 30 mins (4 miles) each run. So about 5 1/2 hours a week. Plus walking to and from work, but I dont really count that as exercise...

Thanks all. So it should be a 3 min rest between sets?? When you say 5-6 warm ups - is that 5-6 sets of 5 reps (sorry newbie question!)

All you ladies are very inspiring... How do you set your calorie limits to get enough protein etc. I am starting stronglifts after lots of cardio... I don't want to put fat back on, but want to eat enough to support the lifting.

Thanks. Its always been quite nice to see how many calories I have extra, but will try looking at the TDEE method and regulate my exercise sessions. How often do you lift?
