  • Hello! I think the easiest way for consistency is to do things that you don’t have to change your routine for and don’t take much time. So for example I incorporate some walking or cycling into my commute to work, it takes no extra time. In fact sometimes walking is quicker than the bus because of traffic. This is easier…
  • I have taken it twice - once in my twenties and once in my forties. The latest occasion was awful! After 2 weeks I was still on the verge of actually crying from hunger! I have never been so hungry in my life, even when breastfeeding. I could not eat enough to fill myself and I was very bloated. I didn’t weight myself but…
  • My height and weight are very similar to yours and I’ve always struggled to stay slim in comparison to my siblings. I have been going up and down from 11-12st and size 14 for the last 2 years whilst I adapt to life with 2 small kids and a new job. I really struggled whilst I was still breastfeeding through the night and…
  • That usually happens in my first week back on the wagon too!! It’s not exactly real weight loss but it’s a start and it really motivates me. You’re under 100kg already! Keep going!
  • My doctor once said ‘you’re fine but try not to put any weight on from here’. I appreciated the comment to be honest. I think it made me draw a line under how much I should weigh. Again I am in a country with free healthcare so there is no worry for the doctor pointing that out.
  • Congratulations on the new addition! I’d echo other commenters and say stay with what you are doing. You might need to be prepared for baby’s growth spurts or hungrier times. There were some weeks I’d not lose much, and other weeks I’d lose 4 pounds whilst having to get up in the middle of the night and eat chocolate bars.…
  • Exactly the same here. It’s so difficult staying disciplined leading up to my period when I’m feeling very hungry and not seeing any loss at all. The loss afterwards is great, of course!
  • When I’m trying to lose a few pounds I don’t buy full sized bottles of wine. Just buy one of those miniature bottles or 1-2 tins of slimline gin and tonic/hard seltzer. Then try to have it twice a week instead of every night, sit down and enjoy the treat! I sympathise - I slipped up today and had a couple of glasses of…
  • I’d say get new underwear. Personally I also put an extra pair on to really keep them in place.
  • I watch my 600lb life (TLC but you can find episodes elsewhere).
  • Keep logging. I thought I destroyed my diet at the weekend because I was 3lbs heavier, but logging made me stop the binge. After a couple of days the weight went back down because it was actually just bloating so thank goodness I didn’t continue down that path!
  • Mine does that too. I take the lighter one just because I prefer it ha! But when I got weighed at the doctors it seemed to be in line.
  • Hello! I’m 18 weeks pp 2nd baby. I was actually horrified to realise I had only put on 7lbs this time and I was just fat to begin with!! I’m 5’3.5 and 165 lbs (11st11) now, I would like to get to 145-150. My profile pic I was about 140 but I don’t feel the need to be that slim, I just want to get back into my old clothes…
  • I decide what I’m cooking the night before or on the morning and start to prep what I need. I actually prefer home cooked meals but I love the convenience of takeaways. If it’s not THAT much more convenient or if it means I have wasted food then I don’t tend to reach for the phone. Also I think about the cost over a month…
  • I really struggle with hormones so I’ve never really managed to tackle this problem. I just try to keep it to one day of eating what I want and not let it turn into a whole week. The only thing that has ever stopped these horrific cravings and hunger for me is going on the progesterone only pill! My sympathy.
  • I have a herbal tea or an options hot chocolate which only has 40 calories
  • Yes. I had cake for breakfast yesterday, just make sure you log relatively accurately. I tend to over estimate if I’m not sure
  • Hello!! Congratulations. I’m currently 17 weeks pp and I’ve lost my baby weight for the latest pregnancy but still have some lingering from the first one haha! (17 weeks is quite short but I only put 7 lbs on this time) I found I lost a lot of weight very quickly pp but then put a bit back on whilst establishing…
  • So true. You won’t feel guilty for feeling hungry once you stop either so you can experiment with how much you need in order to gain just a bit
  • That’s not what she asked, though. I think we can trust that this woman knows what she is doing and will adjust calories accordingly. She’s asking for tips about hunger. And whilst you’re right about calorie deficit making us hungry, there is also a hormonal factor which you will just never have experienced. It’s like a…
  • Yes, but I got the impression she is wanting tips from those who know what it’s like to feel ravenous from breastfeeding as it’s very easy to go overboard (at one point I was getting up in the middle of the night and eating kitkats because I was so hungry). 1600 cals would be a lot lower than what we are used to.
  • I have this worry too! I have been eating about 2500 cals per day and still losing a pound a week! Then I dropped a couple of feeds and had to adjust to about 2000. It was tricky at first but I found it was more out of habit than actually being as hungry as I was before. My tips are to have really good filling meals and…
  • If I’m really hungry I assume I do need a bit extra food so I just have t without going mad - and I’m the same as some of the other posters I get a nice 3 or 4 pound loss after the period ends and the bloat subsides!
  • Just hold on a bit longer. My weight loss comes in one week out of every month so I guess it’s hormonal. Then the rest of the month I have to struggle to keep the motivation to keep the scales at the same weight. It’s worth it if you can just wait. I also usually have one very hungry day during that time where I just eat a…
  • Hi, I’m 13 weeks pp and mfp is helping me lose half a pound a week whilst breastfeeding. However I’m ready to give up both because I’m so tired! Add me!! I need encouragement.
  • I set my diary to gain half a pound a week and I’m currently losing it instead. I tried the exercise diary but I think I ate more in the end.

  • Great advice thank you, I’ve been really struggling to know what to aim for
  • I've had some big nights out since Xmas and still kept going in the right direction. I love a drink. But I have started having a glass of champagne or prosecco, or a few gin and slimline tonics instead of large wines. Large wine is about 250, I have have 5 g&ts for that!! Also no way I am missing out on socialising for the…
  • Imagine what you'll look like by this time next year!!!!
  • I set mine to sedentary and add them manually if the walk is an hour or more. I only get 1200 cals so I need them to eat 3 decent meals!!
