  • I'm an Australian living in France - always happy to add new friends for more motivation and support :)
  • Personally I think you have awesome legs, I'd love to have that muscle definition! :) I know that doesn't answer your original question, but sometimes I think we have to accept our morphology. Sadly that means I'll never be 6 foot tall with skyscraper legs :p
  • Hi! I'd love to meet some new people for support & motivation, positivity is always welcome :)
  • I promise you that most people aren't staring at you. And if they are, try your best not to care what they think - you're doing your best to be fit and healthy, that can only be an admirable thing. If it's making it difficult for you to exercise, try fast walking instead maybe? Are you less self-conscious when you walk? Of…
  • Hi! Congratulations on losing the 56 lbs, that's a really great effort. I've often had the same problem of reaching a plateau or getting easily sidetracked too, and it's so frustrating. At the moment what's working for me is that I've tried to make long term little changes to my lifestyle, instead of dieting or cutting…

  • Thanks for your feedback. When I mentioned 2 litres of water, I meant 2 litres of either water, tea, coffee etc. I generally drink just under a litre during a cardio workout, and about a litre for the rest of the day. My doctor confirmed this was ok when I saw her recently about my eating / exercise plan, so I think I'm…

Yes, when I say "toning" I meant that I'd like to lose the body fat that I'm still carrying despite having reached what was my original goal weight, and show more muscle definition. Exactly as you all said, a recomposition is what I'm after. I'll give your tips a try,…
  • I agree with Redbeard333, it helps to make small changes, little by little. Every time I've tried to do a complete overhaul, it never works, and I end up in a worse position than I was at the start. Small changes that have helped me - *I went from 2 sugars down to 1 then finally zero in my coffee and tea. *I stopped…

  • MFP also says as a guide: "For safe weight loss, the National Institutes of Health recommends no less than 1000-1200 calories for women and 1200-1500 calories for men. Even during weight loss, it's important to meet your body's basic nutrient and energy needs. Over time, not eating enough can lead to nutrient deficiencies,…
  • Jane is right, your body will still burn calories even if you do no exercise - for breathing, digesting and all of the other bodily functions etc. Maybe try some low impact activites to start off with at home, to build up your activity levels slowly? Good luck.
