I've read so many wonderful tidbits from this thread that i don't have the time to respond to them all! YAY for focusing on health and not a scale number! YAY for do-overs & self-forgiveness (man, i struggle with that one) YAY for taming the snacking monster with strategies like small dishes and BIG water bottles! YAY for…

Being with my family always lifts my spirits! Enjoy! Today, I am grateful the Iranians let the American soldiers go.

Shel, well said, as usual. (i might be a little biased) a day of insight and intention. I will keep that in mind for tomorrow, and then the next tomorrow.....

Chase- I, too, struggle with the after dinner snacking monster. I can make great choices all day… and then, bam, the stressors of the day add up and i’m talking myself into a bowl of pity ice cream! tonight an ice cream sandwich was calling me, but i substituted a dark chocolate honey mint for it :) Suzi- your poor…

Patti- thanks for the TT explanation  I've logged about 95% of my bites since joining this group. I'll keep a closer eye on my weight now that i know you'd like posts on it. I've probably lost a pound or two of holiday weight. i'm more concerned with my brain than my butt size, hehe. (however a smaller butt would be…

I love the idea of making dishes ahead of time! i'll keep that in my bag of tricks for later.... at the moment, I live with three family members who wouldn't think too much of that idea. good thing my husband likes to cook! LOL

hiya catbrand. everyone is welcome here (no gate-crashing) i can relate to not being good at putting words together.... but i think you did so admirably :) Kudos to you for resolving to take better care of you! I know exercise doesn't help everybody, but it sure helps me a lot.... and then that makes it easier to make…

that sounds like great advice, Hannah  and thank you for the links.... I will check them out tonight, when i have more time. I'm ALWAYS open to new ideas!

Bert- after my dad's hip surgery, they suggested a combination of oat bran and prune juice. i've tried it, tastes ok (i like prunes) but it had too much sugar for me. Now, i use magnesium citrate. you can get it as a liquid in a glass bottle, but i didn't care for the sweetener used, so I now get it at a health foods store…

grrr, as soon as i post, i remember something i forgot. Karla - Yes, i could work on upper body. I just haven't been consistent with it. i use the excuse... if it isn't going to help my mind, why bother? lame. i've always had a stronger lower body and i should use this opportunity to help correct that :) Cindy - I like…

i like flax seed too. "they" say that you need to grind it for our bodies to utilize it, but it oxidizes rapidly. so, freshly ground is the way to go. I went to a discount store and bought a spice/coffee grinder for cheap and use it only for grinding flax or chia seeds. Speaking of chia seeds.... I LOVE THEM! I typically…

Don'tcha just LOVE those natural consequences of waking up feeling like.... "dog water" the day after unhealthy choices? been there, done that... and every time i do i ask... just HOW many times do I need to learn this lesson? Joan, I think the most irritating thing about this adventure is that we are ALL different…
