  • hello everyone, I am inspired by all your posts.... and I'm angry at how are being treated, Janet. so not fair, but, from what i hear, it's the norm. I'm glad you know how to speak up for yourself! I know these are the busiest years with my girls, and that i'll miss the activity.... but after this past week, i'm admit…
  • today I am grateful for a new day, and another chance to make better decisions. @OConnell5483
  • happy belated birthday, Karla! yesterday, i was slammed. how does a stay at home mom get slammed? but, i was. and my food choices were not good. today is a new day! glad Janet got through surgery, and hope recovery goes smoothly. My sister sailed through hers too. I'm grateful to all of you dear folks.
  • Thanks for your kind words, ladies. Janet- I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Ironically, My sister is also having surgery tomorrow morning, not so drastic---just her knee (cleaning up cartilage) you will both be on my mind. I have a six mile walk planned with a friend and am so looking forward to it! Myra
  • TT: today, i will track every bite.
  • Hello all. I'm also having trouble getting back into the swing of things. Many prayers to keep in mind for daughters and surgeries (& a long recovery time, yikes), and potential moving.... I have missed being a part of the group and hope to get reorganized enough to return. In the meantime, I've gained some weight and lost…
  • Today i am grateful i thought of OConnell5483 when i learned the Packers won! :)
  • Hello group. Just checking in. Been eating "cleaner" since the start of the new year, but i have a way to go. Baby steps. Hope everyone is keeping the good fight. ~Myra
  • waiving hello to everyone! i'm still alive :) I promised myself I'd only post positive things today, so here's to an upcoming much improved year..... hear that 2017? yep, good things are happening. I have missed all of you. happy new year, Myra
  • today I'm grateful for re-suming. and doing it in a non-judgmental forum, with people i respect. so, thanks for that. i'm also very grateful 2016 is over. gone. bye bye.
  • Hi Shel, My husband has had success with weight loss using "ketosis". me, not so much. I tend to faint, for whatever reason. a state of ketosis requires an ultra strict "diet" to achieve and maintain, and it's my personal opinion that it is not a healthy long-term regime. (but i only have about 20 pounds of fat to burn…
  • wowsers, i've missed so much. I remember one of you being on "team puppy"..... well, you won! he's now 9 weeks old and his name is "boomer", weighs 1.6 pounds and is maltese with a bit of poodle mixed in. and his middle name is "little piddles"! Need I say more? the carpet cleaner is getting a great workout..... and now…
  • YAY! for new little siblings :) i anticipated a slow and rainy weekend here, but the sun is out already. so, i think our weekend plans are still up in the air. there is a harry potter movie marathon on TV, but I'd like to get my little girls outside since the weather has improved...... we shall see. a non-event weekend…
  • Janet is in recovery, Suzi is sleep-deprived, Patti has a family crisis, and Karla is finishing her root canal. suddenly, I feel pretty darned good! perspective is a wonderful thing. "old lady core class" is just as it sounds..... but they call it "core and more" after many frustrating years, my physical therapist talked…
  • the bad news: I had to put my pebbles back into the other jar. the good news: I didn't have to search out MORE pebbles! ;) Happy start of our 3rd week! (and hang in there, Patti) Myra
  • Yikes, Patti. Prayers from NC too. also prayers for Glenn and Janet, and hoping for sleep for Suzi. thank you to MaryLynn for her kind words and support for child-rearing! i think for week 3 my motto is: try, try again.
  • congratulations on all the successes, ladies! you are an inspiration :) good luck, Janet, with the new surgeon. Karla, i was just tickled to read your advice for asking for the cancelation department. I'm going to give that a go for satellite radio ;) For TV, we switched from cable to direct TV within the last year, so we…
  • I am holding on to a renewed glimmer of hope that i am making progress in physical therapy, and will once again be able to exercise.
  • congrats @skyeashlee! I'm grateful to have, at first, misread that last post and had the amusing image of a "smashed PB&J whilst running" in my head for a second. HA!
  • congrats on the loss, Karla! my scale showed no loss of weight, but a 1/10th loss of percent fat.... so I'll take it. (it's better than a poke in the eye!) one pebble down, 39 to go! I'm officially stealing Patti's mantra: you have this, you know what to do, now do it! YES! I just ate a mini-lunch of brussel sprouts,…
  • HAHA! yes, adulting is terribly annoying! thanks for the laugh, Janet! I'm still trying to come up with a mantra for the coming week..... Karla, you made me smile thinking about my sister and yoga.... i think this week we'll do a salad lunch instead ;) I'm still working on my "core" at physical therapy…
  • waving hello from a busy week here. all kid related ;) my project me is off to a rough start, but i shall preserver! I plan to recuperate this weekend from all the go-go-go, and stop the stress-induced eating! myra
  • "project me" great idea! I have 40 pebbles in my jar. each pebble represents 1/10 of a % body fat. I'm not putting a time "limit" on it..... but by Christmas would be swell! I came across a thought yesterday (happens occasionally). what if my diet is influencing the pain in my hip (not just erroneous movement patterns)? So…
  • Janet- my eating has been awful too. Once again, I've learned I am not capable of eating one piece of cake and then immediately "go forward". I swear I'm like an alcoholic when it comes to refined carbs. However, today is a new day, and I'm going to adopt your 'resume' attitude! today i shall resume. I survived having…
  • Yes, MaryLynn, this group is a compelling reason to keep coming back :) Waiving hello to all. I've been reading, but not having the time to respond the way I want to, so have been avoiding it. sigh. I"m smiling :) and I"m feeling better now that i'm eating better. I've decided that my "jars" will count fat percentage…
  • @SaraKim17 I can SO relate. I was just complaining this morning about my black&white thinking! it's a bugger. my focus this week is to eat more whole foods and less processed ones. when i do this, i feel my best (physically and mentally) I do anticipate eating birthday cake on friday (my daughter will be 12) and my goal is…
  • We are here for you, Shel I humbly suggest you make your first "mini goal" small and easy to achieve. that's what helps me, anyway. Myra
  • today i am grateful we don't have to get up early tomorrow
  • today, i'm grateful my two younger children both attend the same school. whew.
