Try JERF... (just eat real foods)... so none of that processed crap with chemicals and preservatives... Oh yeah that is basically what paleo has become anyways

Tried it in a moment of weakness.... NOT worth it... just really expensive herbal tea... tasty but not magical- diet was not much of anything different than what I already do but that is pretty clean Just buy yourself some lemon ginsing green tea for the AM and some lavender and camomile for the PM and spend the rest of…

I use a protein shaker... let the coffee cool a bit and was doing 1small scoop coconut oil, 25-50g of butter and a scoop of protein powder to make a coffee mocha thing. I don't care about the noise as my other morning drink was a smoothie in the blender

I play rugby... I am always bruised...

on the IBS bandwagon and gluten is NOT my friend... There are multiple ways to have a sensitivity to a food so the coeliac test isn't 100%

There are a lot of *kitten* pills on the market. What you want is a high daily value (1000mg+) of EPA and DHA. For me I take the Pure Pharma ones which don't give me fishey burps and in the end actually are cheaper considering some brands I would have to take multiple pills.

I eat around 50g carbs a day and can get up to 100g if I have had a hard lift/workout. I find that my body really feels better this way but I eat NO packaged foods at all as I cant have preservatives. Its quite easy, cheaping and really doesn't take much time. I am soon to be going back to grad school and honestly think I…

I can really suggest the FODMAPS diet and a great introduction is the Whole 30 which is nicely led by the book "It Starts With Food"... There is also a great online community on the website for support. If you are struggling for mroe recipes Mel Joulwan has 2 books under the Well Fed brand that are Whole 30 compliant. If…

Also there are stupid amount of Paleo recipes that are GF and don't just try to substitute and end up with higher cal.. one of my current favs is this "chinese takeaway" egg fried rice I make http://thisorderedlife.com/2015/03/01/588/

Been GF for a long while... feel free to ask any question... be sure you dont go too low carb for you (potato salad, baked potato, sweet potato chips, rice etc will help!) Be sure to read labels clearly in the UK now all sources need to be in bold but sneaky ones like malt, rusk and other randoms make their way into things

If you have left over calories try adding a smoothie with casein protein powder at night... it is a slow release to help build back up and may help the hunger the next day
-
What I meant was the advice of the programme to start at 50% of 5RM... seems like a lot of lost weeks with small incremental gains to get back to where you were
-
I dont eat purified sugar... I cook from scratch and when I rarely bake I use fruits or a little honey to sweeten I don't have a sweet tooth, already liked dark chocolate like to eat iwth with a bit of salt on it :)

I am really temped to try this with my husband... have a feeling I would start by making a big pot of chili... my biggest issues would come from the lack of meat :(
-
I split my macros <100gcarbs, 85g fat, 120gprotein and I am never hungry... allthough I don't eat most grains so my only carbs are various potatoes, starchy vegetables, rice, quinoa etc
-
I count water, tea and coffee and soda water.... anything with sugars/other chemicals are a NO
-
I use the texas method whic is similar but once a week you test your 5RM and then the workouts are 85% and 70% of that weight... I don't see how starting at a lower weight is going to be helpful unless you need to first work on form (which you would need a knowldegable coach to help you)... nor do I think that you should…

NEVER listen to a doctor for nutritional advice- its less than a days worth of their entire learning. Vit D is a fat soluble vitamin and needs to be delivered with fat (which was great for milk until we invented "Skim")- also very little research as been doing on micronutrients and how we absorb them... If he is a healthy…

fructose is a different chemical then glucose and our body processes it differently. Glucose is the main nutrient (body uses it first) for energy in the brain and muscles. Therefore excess energy particularly fructose will be stored as fat by the liver. HOWEVER fruit is a great healthy source of fibre and antioxidants so…
