Thanks everyone! I'll be taking all this great advice and figure out something that works best for me. I'm just getting started so I'm going to try to branch out a little bit from basic running an all that boring stuff.

I definitely want to burn fat, maybe 1lb. A week. If a 1 mile warm up will do it then that's not so bad

Great news! I thought I'd have to at least be doing a few miles on the treadmill every other day but i'd much rather strength train.
