  • I put my instant oatmeal into a Systema cup with a lid that snaps tight but has a place to raise for steam to vent. I use water with the Quacker or Great Value, nuke it and eat it from the cup. Just one item to wash other than spoon.
  • Maryanne--The job no longer needed was the sub assignment for today. It was the same assignment that got deleted last Thurs and Fri because of the school being closed for deep cleaning and spraying after a Covid-infected person made her rounds throughout the entire building. In all fairness, she didn't know she was…
  • Pam--quick action on getting an appointment and med for the UTI. We are having a remote learning day because of road conditions. Thanks to technology and each student having a laptop, we no longer have "snow days." The negative of that is that a job I had is no longer needed.
  • All it did here today was pour the rain; 50 miles away, they had 4 inches of snow before it also started raining. This week I am scheduled to get my second Covid shot but with all the news about vaccines not being available, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  • I only got in three hours of sleep last night. When I awakened, it was later than usual. I switched over to Netflix to watching Virgin River again for a couple of hours before going back to bed. I am really debating the upcoming knee surgery and preparations I need to get done before then. So far, the cortisone injections…
  • I never could stand potatoes of any kind for breakfast. When I have breakfast in a restaurant and the entree says that potatoes are included, I tell them to leave off the potatoes. Same with grits! Ugh!
  • Maryanne--Bad timing for a cat show; we love the cats but most people also want to be safe. Up at 4:30am which would be 5:30 on Daylight Savings. My body never changed to standard time. Have spent time going through bookshelves to see what can go. I discovered a scrap book of the good old days when I was active in state…
  • Watching Netflix while sorting; snow on the ground; Covid-19 positivity rate continues to decrease locally--not much but a decrease.
  • Greetings. I am home from work. It seems the school had to be closed for deep cleaning and sanitizing. A janitor's assistant who was asymptomatic at the time he worked throughout the building became sick with minor symptoms that night and tested positive. Sounds a little like Pam's report on the individual who didn't want…
  • I really enjoyed the inauguration. I'm not really a Lady Gaga fan despite her roots in our state but when I think of the coverage, her singing always comes to mind. What a performance! There seems to be an uplift in spirits today as I surf the news channels, but we know it is the "honeymoon" period.
  • I watched the coverage of the departures. I consider it low key.
  • Oh, the things you see on the news. Apparently in Japan, there is a ritual called "husband tossing." Once a year, the wife can toss the husband over a snow bank or hill, the purpose of which is to build more trust between the couple.
  • Maryanne--Each morning, reaffirm that 2021 will be the year you reach a normal BMI. You can do this!!
  • This is today's report on virus dosages received and given for our state:
  • Pam--good news that your Covid vaccine didn't seem to affect you either. Like you, my arm was a little sore but not as much as when I got the flu vaccine. I took yesterday off from my dieting routing. I sometimes think the body builds up a resistance to losing if it is the same routine day in and day out. 7 pounds lost in…
  • I weighed in today, so my two week loss is 7 pounds. Pam--I'm glad you were able to get the shot. I can't wait for February 5 to get here for my second shot. I hope your wait is successful with vaccine available for it at that time.
  • Pam--I have heard that the masks, etc. will be required until herd immunity is achieved or that percentage of people receive both shots. There are many who are afraid of it as well as those who still think this is a hoax despite the numbers of people dying.
  • Maryanne--Here they would have put on Facebook, the State website, TV, etc. where it would be held, the qualifications, and number to call to register. Your next phase may start Monday but they may not have the vaccine for it. This is the update posted today: Vaccine Summary:
  • Helene--We are overwhelmed with info on when shots are being given. All went in 40 minutes when people called in, but if they decide to use the reserve for the second shots to give first shots, I'll not be happy. I already have the time reserved for the second shot on February 5th but that won't mean anything if the Feds…
  • I weigh in tomorrow. I went to the city yesterday for my Walmart grocery pick up and filled up with gas while in the city as it is 20 cents a gallon cheaper than here. I hope there is a vaccine supply so I can get my second shot. The news about availability to the states for that purpose is dismal right now.
  • Maryanne--Does your local health department post info on Facebook?
  • Some people must find it easy to travel to these countries, have connections, or the time to meet quarantine requirements of various places. I read travel guides regarding entrance requirements to countries under Covid. It isn't easy. I t is a headache just trying to get into Hawaii. With minimum 14 day quarantine…
  • Oh, my county is finally red, and this makes the 12th consecutive day of exercise
  • I see more of the family are pulling up stakes and moving to Florida--a state with somewhat liberal bankruptcy laws the last time I heard. My former neighbor took advantage of that by moving to Florida, purchasing property, and then a few months later declared bankruptcy. He kept his nice Florida property but lost the…
  • They have just opened the vaccinations to those 70 and above here. I consider myself fortunate to be able to get mine based upon an "essential" group: Today's effort:
  • Maryanne--Congrats upon the loss. With your determination, you will make your goal. I likely will be having my right knee replaced in a few months. I want to time it just after school is over so I can be recovered (hopefully) by time to take a Fall trip if Covid permits. The Gov is speaking now, and as always he starts by…
  • Q. Should I take Tylenol or Motrin before my vaccination? A. If you regularly take aspirin, acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol) and ibuprofen (e.g., Motrin, Advil) for other medical conditions, continue to do so as directed by your physician or as needed. Otherwise, do not pre-medicate. Taking over-the-counter medications such…
  • They have changed the website that gives all the info . We now have 13,469 who have received both doses. The governor was interviewed on First on CNBC regarding the state's vaccination program that has made it #1 in nation. He, as a Trump family friend, also made a statement about the mess in DC and it was appropriate.
