Morning! I was up at 5am watching the local news. Since I live near the border, I get to start the day with not only the weather but also the covid-19 clinics that are scheduled and the criteria for those in WV, OH and KY close to me. I got 30 minutes of exercise in during this time.

Maryanne--This is the complete dashboard. The links following "overview" give more detailed information; This info is posted each day after 10am.

Now, this is the truth!

This is the vaccine report from our state DHHR website as of today:
-
Trivia time: I lost 4.2 lbs last week. We all know that is mostly water but it is a weight loss. The scale doesn't know the difference.
-
Pam--I haven't dealt with this but it seems simple that if there are 100 doses to be available then after the first 100 make their appointments then the rest are put on the list for the next session. The appointment should be made at time of registration unless the registration is a method to tell the supplier how many…

The state devised a program to vaccinate individuals based upon likelihood of getting covid. The nursing homes and prisons were targeted because of the age of those in the nursing homes, as well as the closeness of residents and also prisoners. With the general populations, the age group of 80 and above is currently being…

O.K., I don't know where this person got his information but in WV the National Guard has been in charge of first testing nursing home residents and then vaccinating them. They took the needed doses to the residents and ensured the vaccinations took place. They may have used some local pharmacies in some places but that…
-
Maryanne--Thank you. Before getting it, they have you fill out a questionnaire regarding any health issues plus reactions in the past. Afterwards, you have to sit 15 minutes before leaving the site. You are given a document that explains Covid-19, the vaccination process, etc. So far, I can't even tell I got a shot. My flu…

I now have an official Moderna vaccination card. I return on Feb. 5 for the second dose.

Fake apple pie: Fix one Diet Direct pancake and top with sugar free or low sugar applesauce. I used to do that all the time for a dessert.
-
Fatkins? That is a good one.

Yesterday was a typical day. I am big on protein as it satisfies me long term. I had more sodium than usual yesterday because of one item but one I don't eat frequently;
-
Pam--That pie looks great! That is something I know I don't keep around. One bite leads to another. I re-learned that last year so this year the only real desserts will be when I eat out--and usually I am so full that it is "take home." I love the Outback's carrot cake. I am not one that gets much from the deli. My NS…

I've been faithful all week with logging food. The odd thing is that I have had no cravings this week.
-
It certainly is a sad day for our country.

I guess our state is #1 or 2 in the nation in a good vaccination roll out plan, according to the Gov's talk at noon. After the 80 and above age group is vaccinated, then it will open to the 70 and above. Our state is now in the process of giving the second dose of the Pfiser vaccine to those who took it 3 weeks ago.
-
Pam--It is good that you were able to get together with your friends. Our state developed guidelines for distribution of the vaccine upon hearing it was about to be approved. So far, all nursing home residents have been vaccinated, and front line workers are in the process, as well as those over 80. After one site had…

Helene--That is terrific planning and will be less tiring as you won't be driving. For instant pot lovers (I got one for Christmas but have yet to use it), this might be of interest: https://leaf.nutrisystem.com/instant-pot-recipes/

Maryanne--Great photos!! Love the fitness equipment one. I have been browsing the NS website. It is more informative than it once was. Its approach to handling the first week is a little different. https://leaf.nutrisystem.com/for-customers/nutrisystem-first-week/

Pam--Things do change. I do remember the plan you described. That was about the time they started selling the "weekends off" plan after its success on QVC. I guess to them, they thought the 28 day plan included the plans for eating on the days the NS food wasn't eaten as they included a good plan for eating home cooked or…
-
Pam--The shakes on NS are available as an additional purchase. I got the 4 week plan which is weekends off plus I could choose my selections. There is a plan that provides food for 7 days a week for 4 weeks but the 4 weeks with weekends off is the most popular one...and it is available with shelf stable only or combination…

The Gov.'s address today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4w-Y1rRw6k&feature=youtu.be I may be getting the vaccine Thurs or Fri as a substitute teacher but #'s of doses are not guaranteed.

If you love satire, you need to watch "Death to 2020" on Netflix. It incorporates real footage with comments made by various people. Let's just say this would not make the regular news. I'm not doing the daily weigh ins but I am going back to what worked for me using a variety of vendors. I am playing with the IF approach…

Diet Direct is having a flash sale--up to 45% off. I haven't ordered anything from them for a long time. I still have its pancake mix.
-
I logged my food today but it is a boring process. I also exercised a half hour.
-
I would love to use more supermarket foods but the local supermarket doesn't carry much of a variety. They had Lean Cuisine meatloaf, Canneloni (sp), and spaghetti. I am not too sure of where we are heading with the weather, the virus, etc. and the ability to get to the city for a prepaid grocery pickup if the weather…

I see Nutrisystem has gone to a plan if you pay for either two or three months in advance then the equivalent monthly price is lower than choosing to pay monthly. Also, if you choose to pay for two or three months in advance, the shipments afterward will be higher priced but lower than if you paid monthly.

I thought with all the doom and gloom of 2020 that I would kick this year off with a little humor that is a good take on how we approach the New Year, year after year. On a positive note, I was "stimulated" overnight and had almost 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I didn't stay up to watch the new year in.
