ann, i agree. maintenance over a longer period is the far bigger challenge than shedding the pounds. it has somerhing to do with permanent lifestyle changes, learning to deal with stres in different ways etc pp. in effect, one needs to work on the underlying causes of the weight gain. this is harder then providing a short…

thanks for letting me know and sorry for making suggestions for great competitions that are already running! this sounds great. I am new on mfp. so I did not know about all the great classic challenges that you have been running. Looks amazing. I think the navigation on mfp is a bit awkward. It feels a bit difficult to…

90 minutes cycling. happy weekend everyone!

yes, same for me. i like the idea of the little extra once in a while. my new approach since last weekend. don't make it a 'free day', but a 'maintenance day' = yeah a few pints and a pack of crisps, but no fatty burgers on the way home. ;)

hi, are you happy with the 4iii? i alsohave a stages and do not want to swap to the tt bike... so i may be in the market for a new pm.

congratulations. I am currently getting back into road cycling and also went out for 3hrs yesterday. I would not worry too much about the 'perfect plan'- the most important thing about training for a century - is that you know a bit what you are doing - and tweak your plan accordingly. 1) Consistency, consistency,…

Hi, what's happening here? nothing? What about a new round of calls with some sort of challenge - six weeks - strava and mfp. If you are not super active anymore, why don't you open up the group a bit more and recruit new admins etc. who are willing to set new challenges. let's have a fresh start here. I am not sure that I…

uuuu, you are far more advanced than i am. i was just thinking about consistently logging 'food' in general (i have just gotten into the habbit a week ago), but alright. why not: extra bonus points for all who also log all drinks? let's see what the others think. happy logging

whatever you do - build up slowly and get into a habit of doing it consistently. do not use sport for losing too much weight. you should enjoy it and you are enjoying it if you keep getting better at it and are properly fuelled. local gym may offer beginner running classes. if you are overweight, be a bit careful with the…

Hi, I am new to the group and just wanted to say that I found the post very helpful. I think the problem is that ALL calories counts, ie. what you consume and what you really expend, are fairly unreliable and are just 'guesses' at best. It works both ways. Most of the modern 'fit-bit' trackers etc. (I own a Garmin Fenix 3)…

Hi all, you probably need to log into the web interface. Could not find the group tab on the Iphone/mobile app. Web log in worked like a charm. Just search for 6 week and you will find the group and can join it. Hope this helps. Worked for me at least ;) See you in the group

Hi everyone! Need to trim down to get back into roadcycling. Live stresses (relationship, job, you name it... ;) have thrown me off during the last months. Too much Domino's Pizza, not enough sport! Planning to loose c. 9lbs in the six weeks. I am looking forward to the challenge and to the group!
