Hi. I'm Rosie from South Carolina. I think I may be the senior citizen of the group at 69, 70 in October. I joined Fitbit to be accountable and try to get more active. I had a full spinal fusion (T5 down to S1) in June of 2013. I had surgery to repair a herniation of one of my incisions (side, abdominal, full back) in Sept…

Have you tried birch essential oil? I have had success with it also.

Congrats on the weight loss. I had radio frequency done on my cervical spine and lumbar but ended up with a full spine fusion (T5 - S1) since my back was such a mess. Not the most pleasant surgery but I have no regrets. I also have fibromyalgia with accompanying sleep disorder. Since I went on a Ketogenic/Paleo diet, my…

I have been eating mainly paleo with some cheats (Frito corn chips). After 2 graduations and all the resulting dinners and cookouts, I blew up like a balloon. My feet and ankles were swollen which is not a normal thing with me. Last Sunday I decided to do the Ketogenic diet and within 2 days the swelling was gone. The most…

I know what you mean about the couch. I was there most of the time for the past 2 years. I am slowly making my way back.

I know a lot of us with chronic pain also suffer from chronic fatigue. I found this article on Yahoo news this morning. It's interesting that so many people suffer from the Vit D deficiency. I take 10,000 iu twice a day and on my last blood work, it was just in the normal range.…

I went to the dr about the pain in my right ring finger on Thursday. I was concerned because I couldn't straighten the finger. While I was waiting, a trigger point in my neck caused a major muscle spasm in my back. Long story short, I ended up with injections in the neck and finger. Everyone knows what that means; eat…

Count me in. I have had fibro for 40+ years as well as arthritis everywhere. I had a full spinal fusion (T5 - S1) because of scoliosis almost 2 years ago and have issues with muscles adjusting to the straightening of my spine. I am just now able to walk any length of time and look forward to getting this weight off.

I am so happy to find this thread. Many people just don't understand chronic pain. I have had fibromyalgia since my 20s (before it had a name) and arthritis since my 40s. I am 69 now. I have always had back issues and knew I had scoliosis. After years of back pain, I had my first spinal fusion (L4, L5, S1) in 2009. The…

I feel your pain. I take a low dose of prednisone daily. It makes the difference in whether I can be active or not. When I get high doses in epidural injections, I want to eat everything in sight too. I am experimenting with some different supplements trying to eliminate the daily prednisone or at least move the every…

You are just rude. You don't know me and you don't know my story but you can hide behind your keyboard and be unkind.

Not necessary to correct spelling or grammar; did it make you feel better?
