That does sound like a strange appointment. What kind of doctor is he? Mine was a dermatologist/plastic surgeon who is widely known in this area as “the eyelid doctor”, lol. At least you were given approval and the surgery timeline will work for you.
-
Helene, how did you appointment go about your eyelids?
-
Saw this and it made me laugh!

Helene, I’m sorry for your loss. I hope it’s of some comfort to you that his last 2 years were peaceful and happy. I am also deeply saddened and concerned after the outcome of the election. I truly believed that Harris could win it and I am beyond angry at all of the people who believed all of the lies they were fed by his…

Helene, it was Maryanne who said a friend is considering moving out of the country if Harris doesn’t win. I wish I could, as well! I’m glad the info about the vision testing was helpful. It really confirmed for me what I already suspected.

Helene, if they do a test of your peripheral vision, it might be a better measure of how much the sagging eyelid(s) is/are impeding your vision. I found that I couldn’t see a lot of things up high without tilting my head up out of the eye that was operated on, compared to the other eye. The eyelid surgeon performed this…

Helene, it was by far the easiest surgery and recovery I’ve ever had. I only had 1 droopy eyelid. There was no pain at all and only a little discomfort from the bandaging on the first day and night. I was told to remove it after the first night and after that my only reminder of the surgery was the stitches that didn’t…

That’s great news, Helene! Sometimes we just have to be patient and remember that our older bones don’t heal as fast as younger ones. At least, that’s been true for me. Maryanne, I’m sorry your month has been so crazy busy and dealing with testing software on top of it! I always hated when management would decide to scrap…

Happy belated birthday to you Helene!
-
It finally got cool here, but the temps are going back up in a day or two. We will enjoy it while it lasts! Last night some of my friends and I enjoyed a wonderful evening to celebrate my birthday. We had appetizers first with wine, then enjoyed a delicious dinner of spaghetti, salad and bread. One of the ladies brought…

Helene, I hope Milton doesn’t do any damage to your home. Fingers crossed for you and everyone in its path. Yesterday I celebrated my 71st birthday quietly at home, except for a quick trip to the grocery store, lol. I do have a couple of celebrations planned with girlfriends coming up. DH had an appointment with his…

I ordered ours on Saturday and they were delivered today! Pretty fast service, lol! I’m hoping we don’t need to use them but just learned that a friend tested positive this morning. I was with her over a week ago, so I’m probably safe.
-
Helene, I’m so glad your home escaped damage! I know you’re still finishing up repairs from the last one, so it’s nice that you won’t have any additional issues to deal with. The flooding from that storm is horrendous! I feel so bad for the people who are losing their homes and livelihoods from it. I don’t understand how…

My biggest fear used to be tRump getting elected. Now it’s tRump getting elected, then dying or being killed or forced out of office due to his obvious declining mental health and then we are stuck with JD Vance. Might as well get fitted for your Handmaid’s Tale robe immediately if that happens. Vance is even scarier to me…

We are home from Colorado now. I enjoyed the trip but it’s good to be home. My medication worked very well and I only had a couple of times when I felt short of breath. Both times we were at a higher elevation and I was either walking uphill or climbing stairs and I recovered quickly both times. Colorado is beautiful, but…

This was the sunrise view out our bedroom window this morning! So far, I have not had any problems with altitude sickness, so the drug my doctor prescribed is working! The only downside to the drug is that it makes anything that is carbonated taste like metal, which is very unpleasant. I guess it may be helping wean me off…

Today I’m getting ready for our trip to visit DH’s family in Colorado. I’m hoping my altitude sickness won’t make me too miserable to enjoy the trip. My new PCP gave me some medication that is supposed to help, which I am supposed to start taking today. I’m also increasing my water intake, as that is supposed to help as…

I watched the entire debate and thought Harris did very well. But tRump’s followers will think he wiped the floor with her because that is their world view, unfortunately. They just can’t conceive or accurately perceive how out of touch their candidate is. Harris was very successful in baiting him and keeping him on the…

One witness is still reachable, even though he now lives out of state. However, he is the less reliable of the two since he admits to running the red light himself. He was traveling in the same direction as the woman who hit me, and he was in front of her. He says he saw the crash in his rear view mirror. I was impressed…

Helene, all good questions. I’m leaving it to my attorney to pursue whatever avenues he thinks are worthwhile. Let him earn his 45% of whatever settlement I eventually get! Some of the irrelevant questions were whether I had any travel plans this fall, what kinds of things I like to do with my friends and who organizes…

The deposition was yesterday afternoon. My attorney thought it went pretty well. I was puzzled by how unrelated some of the questions were and how little time was spent on questions that related to the crash and my injuries. In a 2 hour deposition, probably only 45 minutes or less were spent on the crash and my injuries.…

Helene, my lawyer will be with me but can’t do much to intervene unless the other side asks questions that are clearly out of bounds. I can take my time answering and I can request breaks anytime I need them, but only after answering a question and before the next one is asked. It will be conducted via Zoom, so only my…

LOL! I think you’re right. About the only worse choice for VP would have been RFK, but he’s got him on his transition team along with Tulsi Gabbard, so the nuttiness continues to be well represented. The depo prep today went well. My deposition is scheduled for a week from tomorrow. I’m hoping I don’t forget everything I…

I spent 4 hours today doing preparation with my attorney for my deposition next Friday in my lawsuit for the car wreck almost 3 years ago. I have another 4 hours tomorrow. My attorney is very thorough and determined that I be well schooled in how to answer questions without getting rattled by the tactics the other attorney…

Maryanne, I had no idea you were dealing with voice issues. The procedure you had yesterday sounds awful, but if you’re already seeing changes it might be worthwhile to take the next step when you’re ready. I have also noticed a lot of changes with my voice. I used to sing in the church choir and enjoyed it, but now my…

I did watch a lot of the convention. I thought Kamala’s speech was pretty good. I’ve read that a lot of republicans are saying it was too light on specifics about how she will address issues like the economy and border control, etc. That made me laugh because when has tRump ever given specifics for any of his plans to…

I had my first post-op visit yesterday and my surgeon was pleased. Most of my bruising and swelling is already gone, so now I’m just waiting for the stitches to fall out on their own. I go back in 3 weeks. Right now the left eyelid is slightly higher than the right, but she thinks it will eventually relax to about the same…

Helene, that’s very good news! Sounds like you are healing very well. I am also healing well. My bruises are already fading quite a bit. I’ve been surprised how little pain I’ve had from this surgery. I honestly can’t say I’ve had any real pain and very little discomfort. The only thing that has been challenging at all is…

I had my eyelid lift surgery this morning and it went well. I’m back at home now using an ice pack on it every 10 minutes. I’m having a little bit of pain but not too much so far. I’m hoping the bruising won’t be too bad.
-
That’s good news that it appears to be a simple fracture and that it’s not painful. Hopefully the hand surgeon will have a clear plan of action for your recovery. I’m feeling fine now. I still have bruising on my nose and both knees. The rest of the aches and pains have gone away. I’m having eyelid lift surgery on the 16th…
