  • I would love to offer sage advice; however, I'm right there with you! I meet with my surgeon on the 2nd, and I'm already terrified of soft foods! By the word terrified, I actually mean "TEERIFIED". Hahahha I haven been sick yet and I'm obsessive style focused on "sip sip sip: walk walk walk"...I guess in just finding the…
  • Great news!
  • Yay!! I'm so happy for both of you! It gets better every day of recovery!!
  • I got my calcium chews from Bariatric advantage and my multi from opurity. I am a fan of this set-up because I only need vits 3x a day
  • You got this!! Prayers and positive thoughts coming ur way!!!!
  • Ki4eld - that is wonderful news! I hope that my husband chooses to follow up on the thoughts that he's having right now, but I'm working hard not to push him so I don't confirm his fear of being pressured! Dragonflies6 - how cool would it be to go through this process side by side with a spouse!! That is some awesome…
  • Prayers for you warhawk! I'm sorry that you are experiencing health issues after making such impressive changes to reach your results.
  • I got my protein up to 75g, and I'm getting 30-40oz of water a day. I don't have time for a nap, and I have to wake up at 6 to get it done...but I'm hitting nutritional goals hahahaha. Maybe I should pursue more balance. This is like learning how to walk again...I'm a scientist and a little ferociously Independant so it…
  • My husband is slowly coming closer. He started talking a bit more about his fears and concerns. I'm praying that this time of change will pull us closer together and a lot of fun. He enjoyed helping to care for me today. I am pretty stubbornly Independant, but needed his help a bit today. He even brought up changing his…
  • Hi Connie! My name is Angie. I just had RNY Monday the 16th, and I'm doing fantastic. I couldn't have been half as prepared if it wasn't for this amazing group of wonderful and open people. You can friend me if you'd like!
  • Sinderstorm- great news on your progress and great advice!
  • Lol I think our husbands are related! My husband and I have had these same conversations. It made him feel a bit comfortable when we weighed the same. Now I'm about 90lbs less than him, and he struggles with that. Thank you for sharing, it has really helped me not to feel alone in this struggle !
  • Ssbeadlady, I had RNY
  • I agree that the differences are odd. I feel very comfortable with the expectations of my surgeon and the way my body is responding to food. Everything needs diluted to be as thin as skim milk, so apple sauce is thinned with equal parts water. It is used to hide the insides of my Prilosec capsules. I made something that I…
  • Great luck and super positive thoughts and prayers to both of you ladies!!!! Keep us updated!!
  • I am home and doing very very well! For anyone reading this, I've abandoned this thread and moved over to my new chapter...Angie 2.0!
  • Soooo...I may have been a bit afraid to test my new tummy, so I fell a bit short of my goal. I'm really really scared of throwing up. I stuck with with 1oz of fluids per 15 min rule from day 3 in the hospital. Boy was I excited when I had my first 2oz of protein shake and didn't have any issues! I let my body rest, and let…
  • Oh this is great to hear!! I've been thinking about you a lot. Don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need any support!
  • I made it home safe and sound...well, to my parents' house. It's scary being away from the hospital with a newly redesigned body! Tomorrow I start phase 2 foods!! Yay pudding, shakes, and yogurt!! Wish me luck!!
  • Day two was smooth. I had my friend and husband both with me all day. We walked 20-30 mins 5x, and they were able to help me with the painful tasks (like getting in and out of bed). I hit my water goals and kept up with the spirometer. My bladder is the only thing giving me much trouble at this time...stupid lazy bladder!…
  • Lmao tawny! It happens!
  • Barium swallow DUN! Blissful first sips of water were worth waiting for! A girl down the hall was drinking from the faucet before her testing! I couldn't imagine risking my new body without the dr. giving his blessing. I walked for 30 mins, and I'm hitting my goal on the spirometer! Oh, I got to see my UGI images...very…
  • Thank you! I'll hopefully get water and ice chips by 1pm today. 36 hrs without drinking water is sooooo hard!!! I've been able to walk around my room and move to the recliner a few times! Morphine time...gotta go!
  • Lol morphine...two more days. Sorry, spelling issues!
  • Im maintaining and feeling ok...beat up, but ok. My blood pressure is high, but the gave me some meds for it. I'll be in here for two kore dats.
  • Hi! I'm having RNY tomorrow. Feel free to send me a friend request! I'm a pretty open person!
  • I'll be 45 mins behind you!!! Prayers for an awesomely smooth surgery! I gave everyone else in my circle my nervousness and fear. Letting them carry that while I focus on positive and packing up my stuff has been SUCH a blessing! Reply back to your post after surgery with updates! Good luck and chin up...you got this!
  • Another big step today...I was able to use my sad face to get my husband to take a 2 hr hike with me! It was nice to share that before surgery, and I'm sure that my heart will thank me for not just sitting on my butt today. This time tomorrow...I should be sitting pretty in my room (hopefully in the recliner post op). Not…
  • Yay!!! Sending prayers and best wishes!
  • Kim - I've been following your progress, and you have given me so much hope and clarity. Thank you. Ssbeadlady - you have been kicking butt!! Please keep up updated!
