I confess that I had a *kitten* day at work and came home to tile guys destroying the front entry of my house and just said "*kitten* it". Beer and wings for supper and we'll deal with the rest of this *kitten* tomorrow

The north American/ European concepts of beauty have gotten way overblown. Travel outside of these areas and you quickly how superficial we are. Most other cultures regard weight no different than height;. Just a static. Likewise moles and skin blemishes. Don't even get me going on the obsession that both genders seem to…

groan.... good one.

Salt & Vinegar chips washed down with a Pepsi. Neither have any redeeming qualities.... but damn....

I confess that we've got friends coming over for drinks tonight... and I'm really tempted to pre-party for it.

I bike all summer; now that its dark too early for me to get a ride in after work, I get up early and go to a spin class @ 6:00. I could never do an indoor stationary activity on my own, but surrounded by others and with a good instructor/energy, it's a decent substitute.

My wife bought me a pair of skinny jeans, I think mainly because I haven't got a butt left. I feel a bit weird in them, and because I do a lot of bike riding, they are tight in the thighs. But they are a bit of celebration of 38 to 32 waist changes.

112/97 suffer/red score... You and I should be related. My last ride was 132/128

Hi Jen - Just wanted to say that I checked your strava summary and you and I have pretty much done the exact same distance and vertical for the year. Within 1% on both. I don't race; I'm just an old guy on a bike that fell into a fast group ride group and learned to keep up. I wish I could figure out how to lose 10 more…

- That you will always be cold - That you will actually care what you wear and that it fits nicely - That your butt gets sore from sitting - That you start to judge people for not trying to lose weight - That you get tired of telling people that you're not sice - That you can feel ashamed of what you weighed before

A shot someone took of me over the weekend...I'm half in the bag, but still not a bad shot...

Managed to get out tonight before the weather got ugly.... 770km for the month on 16 rides... mission accomplished... tomorrow is a beer night :)

698 down, 52 left... going to be a tight race to the end of the month between life stuff and a very windy/rainy/cold forecast....
-
Up to 546km for the month so far. Lots of life stresses eating into my riding time, so it's going to be a push to hit 750...
-
I can join in... I'd like to hit 750km this month; only made 700 for August, but a little cooler weather will hopefully let me enjoy the long rides a little more.

That's a lot of mileage for a year; I thought I was going crazy by making 4000 km. And I hear (and agree) on the last 5-10 kg... they are pretty damned stubborn, when you figure out the trick to losing them, please let me know. All I know for sure is that they're killing my hill climbs :)

One suggestion if you're thinking about buying used on Craig's list, etc. Ask your LBS if they will do a pre-purchase inspection for you. They may want a little bit of money for it, but it will save you buying a mistake! They might even be able to give you some recommendations on what size, etc you should be looking for (…

My ride is aluminum frame with carbon fork/seatpost.. the carbon takes the road vibrations out, the aluminum helps keep it affordable. Shimano 105 components are the sweet spot of price/performance it seems. My bike is all 105 and it is quite nice

Well, I will break my oath of silence in the forums.... I went through years of knee pain, etc, finally got through to the medical system that it wasn't going to go away with physio, rest, etc. Fast forward to MRIs, a couple of surgeries to attempt to repair the meniscus and finally a partial knee replacement. The PKR was…
