  • Thank you for all of the replies! I appreciate the information. As far as eating back the calories, I have been...and I still have been loosing weight faster than MFP has projected. I've been following all of the guidelines that I've been given, but I don't have another appointment until next month. (I should give them a…
  • At breakfast time: 10mg B-Complex Sublingual (liquid) - in either Orange Juice or a homemade fruit smoothie 2 Citrical +D3 Gummies At lunch time: 1 Flintstone Complete vitamin At dinner time: 2 Citrical +D3 Gummies With dessert: 1 Flintstone Complete vitamin And yes, I take Flintstone Vitamins. Other vitamins were…
  • I should also note that I am still not eating flours or grains. They sit like a lump in my stomach when I do. They don't hurt....they're still just really uncomfortable. I tend to eat a lot of fruits & nuts, as well as meats. But I can also handle dairy, sugars and fats. (But everything in moderation, of course.)
  • I don't have a Sam's club near me (I live in "The Valley" in California), but I do have a Costco. (And, of corse, a Walmart - they're everywhere.) When I go in, I'll have to take a look. I also have GNC & Vitamin World, but GNC always seems overpriced. Vitamin World seems to have better prices than GNC, but they tend to be…
  • A lot of people have a tough time with eggs early on, so try them a little at a time. When I first had them I'd hard boil them with a soft yolk (about 8 minutes), and then I would chop up the egg & whip it up with just a touch of Miracle Whip Light to make it creamy. (Not even a teaspoon's worth.) One thing I did while…
  • This. I have the A300 and the H7 HRM, and I wear the H7 when I sleep to help monitor my nocturnal seizures. Because I'm wearing the H7 it counts it as extra activity instead of sleep time, so I have to go in to MFP and subtract the activity. (But since I start it before midnight it counts it for the day before, not the day…

  • As was stated above, the A300, M400 and V800 all track activity. On the "main screen" there is an Activity Bar that will show you your progress throughout the day. This is what it looks like on the A300: The M400 looks pretty much exactly the same. Visually, the difference between the two is that the M400 comes in two…
  • This is what I would have to say is happening. The only time mine has done that is when I have mine pressed up against something so that the buttons are being depressed. Basically it's telling you that it's confused on what it wants you to do. And if the battery meter is showing, then it had just returned to the "main" (or…
  • Try out different things and see what sticks. As one person said, try classes. You might find one that you like....and there are all kinds: Pilates, Tai Chi, Aqua Aerobics, Spin Class, Yoga, Circuit, etc. Who know? It may just be that you might want a social aspect added to your exercise regimen.
  • If you have your phone on you all the time it will be relatively accurate. Especially if you have a newer phone. I was using my iPhone 6 for a while, but it could track the exercise that I was doing, only the steps I was taking. I eventually picked up the Polar A300. You may want to consider getting an actually fitness…
  • This thead makes me wish I could go visit my ex. (We split amicably & we're still friends....she just had to move to another state to follow her career goals, otherwise we'd probably still be together.) I'm in way better shape now than when we were dating....and when we were dating we would have 3 to 4 hour "work out…
  • Hi @sinderstorm ! While I have a daughter (that's 24-years-old), I live with my best friends that have two boys 8 & 14 years old. And I do nearly all of the cooking in the house. I had the sleeve 9 months ago. (The mother of the boy had the RnY about 7 months ago.) So I know how you feel about having to eat differently…
  • Well, I met with my bariatric team today for my 9 month tune-up & oil change. ;) I was told that I am right on track and that I'm where I should be. I have an official weigh-in of 233.22 lbs. I had asked about eating more once I hit my goal weight since I'm still not eating all that much at once right now....I'm just…
  • Rule #2: Double-Tap :D I've tried the Xbox Fitness app on the One, and while I like it...I, unfortunately, am not able to use it due to my other health conditions. It's a great fitness & exercise app! I'm glad it's there! I just wish I could use it. Instead, I use Disney's Fantasia: Music Evolved. (Quote from "The…
  • I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm 9 months out from my Sleeve and I'm nearing my goal weight range. I go in today for my official weigh in. I weighed myself at home last week and I came in at 232lbs (but I don't trust that scale, and I can't afford to buy the one I want yet), and my goal range is 225 - 200. So…
  • For a while I was thinking about getting the Polar Loop. I went with the A300 instead. I'm glad I went with that decision! As has already been said, you only need to wear the HRM strap when you're working out. It only needs to be charged once every 26 days on average. You can wear the HRM strap while swimming to get your…
  • I just got the A300 and I love it. The difference between the two is that the M400 is geared more for running & cycling, while the A300 is more for swimming. In truth, they could be used for either...but they are just better at tracking what they were specifically designed for. (They, of course, track other exercises.)
  • They say "one size fits all." How do they know? :p >:) o:)
  • I thank you all for your contribution! Basically I'm just going to have to wait & see, and balance it out to my personal needs :D I don't even know what my metabolism is like right now as I'm still "in flux." (Still loosing weight at a good pace, and I have increased activity.) My activity is broken up in the day. First…
  • Nice going!
  • Thank you. :) During the consultation they go basically go over what the surgery is, what it will do for you, why you need it, and to see if you're ready for the first steps of the process. There's usually a psychological interview as well. If your physician has sent you to a bariatric surgeon for a consultation, chances…
  • I don't know about the Polar Loop, but the A300 will synch with the H7 on a different frequency than bluetooth. It's called GymLink Frequency. This allows the A300 and the H7 to communicate while in the water. (Bluetooth doesn't work in water.) So, you would wear both normally and start tracking your workout as you…
  • To determine what kind of workouts you want/should do, you need to figure out a few things first -* What your fitness needs are * Any medical requirements * What you enjoy doing Each one of those items are important. The first will open up the range of which types of workouts you should be doing. Since there is no way to…
  • I'm sorry to hear about the problems that you're having. I do have a question for you. This may sound a bit ridiculous, but it does need to be asked. With your weight loss & dieting, have you been taking vitamin and calcium supplements? I know that sometimes when someone loses a lot of weight (through dieting, and…
  • Thanks for this. I just got the A300 and I had been wondering about this myself. I had a pretty good idea of what it meant, but I had just not had time to research it yet. (Quote from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.)
  • Hi there! I had the sleeve, but one of my best friends & roommate - she had the RnY. We're about 2 months apart from each other. I can tell you from our experiences that men loose their weight differently than women do - surgery or no. Women tend to plateau more often than men do. And it's not uncommon for her to pick up a…
  • @ssbeadlady Most insurances will pretty much automatically cover bariatric surgery as long as it is not "elective." (Pretty much if your doctor suggests it, they'll cover it.) Especially if you're diabetic. The reason for this is that in the long run it is much, MUCH cheaper for them to cover the cost of this one surgery…
  • Missed it by this -> much. Mine was on 9/16/2014. (Quote from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.)
  • Hello! I had my sleeve done back in September (2014). I've lost 126 lbs since then, and still going. (And I lost around 100 before that.) As @cmchandler74 said, as soon as you can, get up & walk around in the hospital. And when you get home...keep walking. Not only will it be good exercise, it will help you recover faster.…
  • Then it comes down to what you'll be doing. Polar was what I had come down to choosing, myself, and went thru the process if picking out the one that suited me best. At first I was going to go with the Loop. It's their "basic" activity tracker. It'll count steps, calories burned, tell you when to move if sitting too long,…
