Sorry for the huge graphic. It's so 'reflective' of November here in Canada ~ dark branches, moody twilights that come so early in the day, a thick carpet of leaves to keep everything safe until the spring, and icy, 'reflective' water. Hello everyone! I’m Theresa and I live in downtown Toronto, Canada. Together with…

Welcome, Don! Luckily your first 'official' weigh day will be next Saturday, November 7th. We move to our November team chat tomorrow. I'll post the link shortly. If you want to, you can share your loss to date LTD, which can be pre-MFP so the highest you have weighed. It's optional but allows us to celebrate more…

It's never too late, my friend. You've got this! I read a good article about set points in weight loss on MFP. You probably know this already. It's about how our bodies try to maintain a certain weight that it's used to. It works really hard at it because our bodies seek homeostasis. The best way to establish a new set…

@Beka3695 An update. Zumba-luvah has a second milestone in addition to the above-noted 50 lb plus loss to date. She has also entered the 140s at 148.8 lb today.

Kandi, That's a good step total. If I understand correctly, it's an average of 8,151 steps a day. You're already back on track!
-
Great ideas, Shelly. I'm going to try the apple pie/not pie and the fireplace tips.
-
Thank you for the well wishes, Shelli. I'm the same. I tend to hole away when things aren't great. And you're right, it would be better to get out of my shell and come out for support. Glad to hear you're doing better the past few days. One step at a time. Housework is a real calorie burn too.
-
I hope the break helps you reset. I miss you here and hope that with less pressure, you can come by more often and share your stories of your neighbourhood pups and everything that's going on with you. Miss you, Linda.
-
Oh no! I hope your knee gets better ~ that sounds painful. I hope your relatives are all safe and healthy and did not catch Covid. It's natural to worry though. My thoughts are with you.

Pam, I just bought a giant box of RealFruit gummies last night. There's no way to gorge on those! Imagine what my stomach would say if I ate too many. I'm not sure any children are going out for Hallowe'en here but I don't want to be empty-handed. We've been getting mixed messages on Hallowe'en. Many people are planning to…

Wow! This sounds like so much fun, Lisa. When you said Milestones, I thought you meant a restaurant (it's a chain here) and was so pleased to see that it's a local history museum. I'm a genealogist, so such a nerd for those. Are your ancestors from the area you live in?
-
Big hug...or would you prefer a kick in the butt? (jk)
-
Thanks, April. I will get out my magic bag too. This reminds me, I have some pretty 'indoor' scarves. I'm going to get those out.
-
Lisa, I love your 'hygge' approach. Both my son and my niece spent extended periods of time in Denmark when they were teens. Just a coincidence as we're not Danish. My son was in a peace group and the Rotary send my niece for all of grade 11. Anyway...just today I thought of making a hygge list of go-to things to do since…

Great stepping, Debbie.

Ashley, Thanks for this. I wanted to post earlier that SAD may affect more of us more this year. If you're in lockdown in your area, you may not naturally get out to appointments and get-togethers as often. If you're in the northern U.S. or Canada, you may be faced with reduced daylight or shorter hours of sunlight in the…

Sorry to be MIA. Not feeling well the past two days. Hope to see you more tomorrow.
-
Welcome @nikkibrianne64 ! I'll send you a friend request as co-captain with @minstrelofsarcasm because we send PMs from time to time. I'm sure some of the others on the team will too. November officially starts on Sunday but poke around here and say hello before we move.
-
Hello all ~ It's just after midnight and for the first time I've been able to log on. More tomorrow after I sleep and catch up. Take good care, Timi. I've moved you to the cheer squad. Reach out by PM if I can help in any way. Hugs.
-
@jugar Please move @ timibotkin to the cheer squad. She's going through some heavy personal stuff right now.
-
We have not heard back from her regarding either re-weighing or giving us the weights in stones. I will PM her. Apologies for not reaching out to her directly. I was having trouble logging in today at all.
-
Happy Birthday week, Lisa! Enjoy the beautiful weather today
-
Whoa! Two milestones:One weigh-in. That must feel good, Patsy.

Thanks to everyone for your kindness about Bella the puppy. Nature took its course and as a genealogist, I realize that that was how it was for our ancestors. I still remember that my grandfather was, as they always emphasized, the youngest of the 16 who survived. The other two puppies are strong and bigger every day. I…

Ashley, I had no idea there was a cookie season. I never make cookies and my daughter-in-law always makes cookies. Perhaps we should meet in this land of seasonality. Salsa is healthy food. I think if you count the tortilla chips, they are too. Someone in this group counts them. Anyway, you deserve a respite.
-
Feel better. I love how you refer to the virus as Rona. I think it must be a U.S. thing. It reminds me of the Mary Tyler Moore show.
-
Thanks for the well wishes for the puppy, Melanie. Bella was the runt of the litter and she tried really hard to stay with us. There are two more puppies who were full-sized are thriving as well as any puppy could thrive. They will be hardy little Morkies. As for the green thumb, you are on par with the plants you…

Perhaps you've inspired someone to have a green thumb
