Oh yes, hot buttered broth is my favorite winter, before bed treat on gym nights! Delicious!! Beats bullet proof coffee any day, although broth could never replace my good old morning black coffee!!

Links to some of my tried and true favorites! I think all the recipes have nutritional info posted. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/cauliflower-mac-and-cheese-casserole-recipe-2013849 (This also works as a full meal adding in leftover baked ham!) https://www.thecountrycook.net/crock-pot-mississippi-pot-roast/ Delicious…

I actually feel fortunate that I do not have a magic number in my head for a goal weight. I know too many people that obsess over a specific number and lose sight of some other really good stuff. I never had a scale in my house until I started living with my BF about 7 years ago and I was around 150. I do have a pair of…

Congratulations on your success so far! Keep it up

I think I love you all. Best read of the day.

I've not tried it personally, but have a few friends that did. They had great success, but like most other "diets", re-gained everything back the minute they tried to go back to their regular eating habits because they didn't learn anything.... Its a great choice if you are okay with having artificial meal replacements…

I'm only familiar with its very short use in body building competitions and photo shoots in order to dehydrate your body for additional muscle definition.

Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I am trying to build up my cardio/running endurance and my goal is go 3x a week during my lunch hours. I strength train Monday and Wednesday evenings and have yoga class on Tuesday & Thursday's. The weekend is sort of a crap shoot....

If the butter in your fridge is mostly vegetable oil then it isn't butter... it's margarine. Is it possible that the reaction to going over the 2200 mg of sodium isn't from the sodium itself but the processed-type food(s) you are eating that contains the sodium (like margarine?)....

I couldn't imagine movie night without my (plain) pork rinds & dip or used as nachos covered in melted cheese with salsa, guac & sour cream! I've never tried any of the flavored ones, they are just are available in stores near me. Other snack options when on the run and hitting a convenience store are nuts, beef jerky and…

Yes I think the intention of MFP recipe builder is solely to calculate the calories and macros per serving for more accurate diary entries rather than a cohesive area to retrieve actual recipes from. I refer to my usual spot(s) for recipes when it is time to cook. I use MFP when its time to plunk it into my diary. I find…

I no longer specifically eat paleo/primal, but I would fail miserably if I was preparing the evening meal on a nightly basis. With our schedule, there are a few nights we barely have time to eat, let alone cook! I don't just "food prep" on the weekend, I MEAL prep by batch cooking. I try to keep the ingredients separate…

This post has made me thankful in many ways I never even thought of that I have always drank my coffee black. I couldn't imagine not having my favorite cuppa repetitively throughout the day! Thank you for the grateful moment

Sorry... those weren't actually food ideas since I don't know what your family actually likes or doesn't! Keep it simple, offer up a meat, one or two different veggies, maybe a sauce on the side to go on top and a carb.... Make sure at least one or two of those options fit the bill for the majority of people. It's how I…

I find that their tastes change very often too... as do I mine. I hated asaparagus until about 6 years ago and I'm pretty new with avocado too! I always suggest they at least try, because "tastes change" and things are different when prepared in different ways. Often their term "I don't like that" also includes food they…

@TheMerryMermaid you have some darn lucky chickens and I think that is a perfect use for the pulp!!

@FruityLoops yep, if you actually like BEER, you will not enjoy the low carb swill. I now understand non-beer drinkers references to horse pee. Although I am typically am in ketosis, I classify myself as low carb since my carbs are set at 10%. I enjoy an occasional stout, porter or ale. This is a lifestyle for me, not a…

@Sharon909 congratulations on getting started. IMO there is no firm rule for "doing this right", you define how you want to improve and what your definition of clean eating is. What is sustainable for the long term is more important than following someone else's militant rules!

A true green juice does not carry the calories like bulletproof coffee, fancy "starbuck" stuff and the traditional smoothie or meal replacement drink. Those calories add up fast often without offering much for satiety and are usually what is referred to when talking about not drinking your calories. The nutritional punch…

I wrote a huge response last night and apparently it didn't post! Like above, I am also the cook. When I first started this WOE, I quickly learned that HF casseroles and the like were not going to be a good option when devoured by my carb-eaters. I now also focus on meat, veggies, sauces, salads, and carbs as all separate…
