Hehe as my name would suggest - me!! I'm getting married in 11 months and decided to start dieting early as I want to buy my dress in a couple of months - plus I was fed up of being fat! Lost about 29lbs and 13 to go. Good luck to you and stick with it!

I found the first six weeks I had periods of intense hunger quite often. Then about two weeks ago I suddenly realised hunger wasn't a problem any more and that has continued. Long may it last I say! I'm glad I battled through it. I was very afraid that I would be hungry for the rest of my life!!

In the UK the Royal Marsden Hispital which is the leading cancer hospital has published a nutrition and cook book. I flicked through it in a bookshop and it looked good although would need to be adapted for true keto. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Royal-Marsden-Cancer-Cookbook/dp/0857832328

My old krypronites are fading out - but nuts are still a danger zone and I'm trying to be careful with them.

Although the carb related hunger dies down in the first couple of weeks of LCHF, I have personally found it took 6 to 7 weeks to totally disappear. Stick with the plan and hold on tight - I promise it gets better and an awful lot easier.

I get them too and I have a magic potion that makes them go away. A cup of bouillon (Marigold brand if you are interested but any will do or just stock cubes) plus added salt and sometimes liquid aminos (a lot like soy sauce if you're off gluten). AMAZING.

Hmm. I don't jog much but I walk 10-12k steps a day. I mainly do it to purchase some more calories to eat and I eat about 75% of them back so I have no idea how it affects my weight loss but it does make me less miserable at having no calories to eat! Back in the day when I did CICO I had excellent results with jogging but…

I quite often don't offer a starch with the meal. OH bakes lovely bread so I sometimes put some of that on the table but usually I just cook extra veg and half the time the recipients of the meal don't even notice!

Also it's important to be a fantastic role model. Never criticise your weight or that of others in front of him. Talk about health, not weight, when it comes to your food choices. Keep your own weight down (hah, easy to say!) and always make healthy meals, keeping soda and crap out of the house. Don't worry about pointing…

Cauli mash with loads of butter is pretty delicious. Maybe some mustard too.

It's definitely easier with boys, if you can keep things steady and they have a growth spurt it really evens out. Make all at home meals heathy and low carb and it should even out. Don't bang on about diet.

By the way if you do try these it can make birth control pills fail. Just a tip.

Binger!!
-
Try Lindt 99%. It's delicious, it comes in small packets that are only 250 calories so even a massive binge can't get out of control and to be honest, I'm a bigger and I've never managed more than a third of a packet.

Should we add a caveat for new low carbers? I don't think I could have even contemplated fasting until minimum 6-8 weeks into this WOE or I would have died. I think newbies need to know it's not a failure to not be up to it yet! It was a LONG time before I could confidently skip a meal but these days it's totally easy.

I make an occasional Caesar with mayonnaise or Fage yogurt plus Parmesan, anchovies and olive oil. Delicious.

The ability to wait long periods to eat if there is nothing suitable available. Clear, acne free skin for the first time since my teens. Steady consistent weight loss. Generally avoiding the feeling of gnawing, must have it now hunger. Ability to say no to the treats and cakes my colleagues bring in. More energy and better…

Might try this. I often eat all my calories between 11am and 8pm which I find really works for me for hunger and not eating too much. My July challenge is to do this on more days than not.

This was my brunch, but still... I didn't eat the bread or baked beans. I did eat the six egg scramble, eight rashers of crispy bacon and six chipolatas though!
-
How did you flake them? I had a bad reaction to the sodium dioxide used to preserve packaged ones.

Getting in a size 10 (US 6) wedding dress!!!

Don't fret. It will slow down and you will long for those days! Enjoy it while it lasts.

My newish routine is to take 3 boiled hen eggs or 2 boiled duck eggs to work in a container with salt and pepper. I eat them around 11am and then have my lunch of salad with chicken or salmon and avocado or olive oil - and another boiled egg - at around 3pm. Usually I'm not even very hungry by then but that routine keeps…

My mum is a good cook and food was pretty wholesome growing up. More Carby than I can tolerate, I now discover but good. The problem came when my mum tried to restrict me aged about 11. She gave me smaller portions than my brothers and I massively rebelled. Sweets and chocolate were not allowed so I would sneak them…

How about spiced rum and diet coke for that holiday flavour?

I feel generally better mentally on low carb but fiancé says I am snappier than I was. I attribute that to the calorie deficit rather than the low carbs.
-
Yeah the first one or two weeks made a big difference. Slow and steady after that. It's a good motivator but don't expect it to last!

Béarnaise? Egg yolk, butter, tarragon, white wine vinegar.

Macadamia nuts are my new kryptonite as I discovered yesterday when the bag was empty. The office was empty so I didn't feel watched and I went back to some very dark days of binging that I hadn't seen in a very long time. Oh and not keeping busy - that's a bad thing for me. Also recently discovered that having too much…

That was me too! I've realised it was so I could comfortably eat a massive meal which obviously isn't great!
