This is one of those situations where men think "I can't read your mind" and a woman thinks "well isn't it obvious" I think this is where a lot of miscommunication comes in. My boyfriend gets seasonally laid off so he is home all day quite literally doing nothing. Meanwhile I work a 40+ hour a week job and a part time job…

Those of you who use broth for potatoes do you add butter too? OP I don't make a sweet potato casserole because I love them as they are. I scrub them and pop them in an oven for about an hour and they get all soft and caramelized and delicious. Then I let my loved ones douse theirs in syrup and brown sugar and I eat mine…

When I realized that any more loss was just to see how far I could push it. I didn't like that kind of thinking so I stopped the loss.

I've been doing a version of this myself recently but I have had to get myself under control. Luckily my 30 day average is 1535 which is below my net 1600 total goal (if you look at my diary you will see a 1350 net because I'm a lazy logger and I like a buffer zone.) I'm getting dangerously close to a slow gain and I'm…

You are very welcome. Consistently hit your goals for a few weeks (4 to 6) and see if the losses stop. If they don't stop increase your calories slightly (maybe about 100 a day) basically just use your rate of loss to determine whether you are eating the appropriate amount for your body.

Why don't you just manually add (all or a portion) of the calories that the fitness band gives you and adjust your intake based on that. If you start with a portion and lose, add more. When I got a fitbit I set my level to sedentary and let the fitbit do the rest. It's worked perfectly for over 2 years now.

Gianelli, you'd never know it was chicken or turkey sausage. Sometimes I make my own "bulk" sausage by seasoning ground turkey or chicken. Its pretty good in a pinch (i add just a touch of bacon fat to it to keep it moist.

I can't see your diary but heres some general advice: Instead of eating more volume try eating more calories. Add in some peanut butter or some cheese where you might not normally. Those calories add up quickly so be mindful of portions. If you're eating lowfat or nonfat anything its time to go full fat. For a personal…

Women's bodies are all different! I have always joked that I was built like a boy when I was larger because I didn't seem to have a shape. Now that I am a healthy weight I see that I am naturally slim hipped and small breasted. Plus fit of clothing is a preference and differs based on vanity sizing/style etc. Don't ever…

Wow really?! Is the fit appropriate when you do this? I only ask because I've had several custom dresses made one of which the manufacturer measured me themselves and both times the fit has been wayy off. This sounds like a dream come true!

Buy a flavored coffee...not a cappucino mix but actual coffee. Folgers has a Caramel Drizzle and a Vanilla Biscotti that are both very good. I used to use a LOT of flavored creamer until I got serious about cutting and it wasn't worth the calories. Started out by measuring the amount (it was NEVER enough) so then I just…

batch cook chicken thighs on sunday and wed. use as a main, on a sandwich, salad, wrap etc. mix with microwaveable rice packets and hot sauce. mix with broccoli and cheese on a baked potato. I find I do best with a substantial lunch. If I eat something small I make up the difference in snacks anyway so I'd rather just…

How tall are you? I'm 5'4", female, 29yo and set at sedentary I maintain 124# at 1600 calories. if your stats are anything close to mine you will lose at 1400. Move a little more and eat a little more. It could be after such strict adherence you are starting to slip a little in exercise intensity and logging accurately.…

I give up nothing! Just eat less of it or less often.

Okay great! I can't wait to get out there and try some stuff on :)

Oh doctors...could you ask for a referral to a dietician? they can more accurately assess your dietary needs than a GP can.
-
I actually was referring to stores like Gap Kids (or whatever its called) and the Childrens place. I'm not so much concerned at a Kohl's or JC Penney where no one pays attention to what you try on or guards the changing room like corrections officers.

I hate to be "that guy" but your diary is closed. how confident are you in your logging? How big is your perceived deficit? It is possible that fitbit is over adjusting for you but its also possible that you are eating more than you think or some combination of the two. All I can say is that I eat pretty much exactly (over…

It took me a while and I still have a few things but the short answer is yes! I didn't want the option to go back. If the choice is buy (another) new wardrobe or get the eating under control I'll get the eating under control. I like removing the safety net.

If any of you are interested there is a website called quitnet that has a daily newsfeed and a lot of really supportive people. It has helped me a lot.

Any of you wearing kid's sizes...Do you try on at the store? I don't want to be "that" weirdo but I would def have to try on...

Lol I can never find the "old" section of the mall if I enter on the Destiny side. And Lawdy the parking now! It used to be straight forward and easy, not anymore that place is jam packed lol Totally love the upstairs though with all the activities...I wish they had all that when I was in college.

I would give it a few more weeks (~4) and yes! More food=more energy!

13-20k I get up every hour for my 250 at minimum. I get 2 15 min breaks where I walk as fast as I can up a hill (usually about .75 mile maybe each time.) I also do that for 15 minutes after I eat my lunch quickly most days. Any excuse to go for a walk; ask a question, deliver a document, bathroom break. To hit additional…

Body weight training will work too if you don't have access to variable weights for progression. Start working on that pushup! Theres your first goal :)

Fitbit calorie adjustment is usually somewhere between 600 and 1600 calories (activity level is set to sedentary.) Yes I eat all or most of them back. I don't decide beforehand I just eat what I'm hungry for and allow the rest to bank to cover logging errors and potential overages. A lot of that adjustment is just quick…

Experiment a little and remember its okay to change it up if you want variety. I did the 6 small, frequent meals for a while. Now I'm doing 3 bigger meals every 5ish hours with a few small, usually vegetable based snacks as needed. I find that both keep me satisfied as long as I eat enough calories with a good mix of…

If you want something make it fit. english muffin pizza, portabella mushroom "burger", black bean burger, oven baked zucchini sticks or sweet potato sticks instead of fries...My go to move is the swap and it worked out great for me. I even feed it to my boyfriend and he likes it too. For pizza make a big batch of…
