Thanks everyone for your informed replies! I feel much better now. I don't know my BF% but a measurement will be in the works soon when I meet with a PT next. I'm apprehensive about starting a heavy lifting program and I'm hoping a PT could help me get past my qualms.

Awesome read from 2011! This was just what I needed to remind me that I was heading in the right direction towards my goals.

Congrats to all you Mommies and your progresses! *raises hand* I'm a mother of three! They're ages 10, 6 and 1 yrs. I haven't found my "before" pictures yet (current photo in profile pic) but I want to share that I began my fit lifestyle back in March of 2013, weighing in at 188 lbs. That's not the heaviest I've been, but…

"Don't drink cow or soy milk, the estrogen will make women gain weight/fat and we already have more than enough estrogen." "No ethnic foods, you won't be able to lose weight if you eat ethnic food." Can I eat back my calories burnt while arguing?

Thanks everyone for your advice because I had the same question.

You make the dress look cute! I would definitely pair it with a faux leather jacket for a casual look or with heels for an evening look.
-
I would go for my stash of baby carrots as a snack if I'm still hungry after all my meals. I'm sure any vegetable are less carbs than fruit.

Lol, I pulled out of the same hat! @samiisaurus I just discovered my sedentary BMR is 1423. I've been losing weight with 1200 cals but feel I could use a boost. I'm following your lead, will bump up to 1400 calories tomorrow.

I love it in my twisted tuna salad, no mayo, 2% cottage cheese and celery!
-
Thank you for sharing your inspiring story! This'll help me on my journey too!
-
I'd love to get your progress! What kind of weights did you do? I just don't know where to start.
-
Ice cream is mine! Argh

@jacklfc88 Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely do the weight training before HIIT. @mwyvr I'd love to lose 1kg a week consistently too! As you can see, I'm new to fitness and have a lot to learn. I'm glad I don't have to be so scared of the fats and will surely keep a deficit before macros. I keep reading about "eating…

Yes, my goal for now is to shred the weight. I saw a post that showed photos of women losing weight by lifting on a deficit. I'm hoping that will be the best method to shred? I've done HIIT before at a Bootcamp and enjoyed it but not willing to fork out the dough for it. I'll use what I learned as a foundation for my own…

You don't have to twist my arm to eat bacon!

I meant 45% Protein, 35% Carbs, 20% Fats.
-
I changed my macros to 45% Protein, 30% Carbs, 25% Fats. Thanks again! Up until a week ago, I didn't even know what macros meant.
-
So that's about 100-144 grams of protein for my current weight. Thanks @MrM27 and @galgenstrick !
-
I'm so thankful for this info. I'll be keeping to 1200 cals from now on then. Is my protein too high?
-
My diary goals say 225. I've only eaten up to about 150 at max. Calories come first.
-
I read up that cycling calories helped you lose weight quicker, is this not right?
-
I eat about 1200-1500 cals.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey for me! My favorite is the Double Double Chocolate with Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze. Only 150 calories!

I'm 5'3", CW 173 lbs, 1200-1500 cal/day, with daily moderate exercise. I just started so I'm hoping to see results.
-
You girls look awesome and inspire me when I'm feeling hungry or tired! I can't wait to contribute my before and after photos on this thread as a 5'3"er!
-
I've never counted calories before and I'm about 5 days in, eating 1200-1500 calories per day with daily moderate exercise. My TDEE is 1460 calories at BMR. I really do hope I'm doing this correctly because my goal is losing 45 lbs.
-
I'm 5'3" myself and this thread is motivating! Congrats all to your successes, I'll be there soon :)
-
Congrats! I'm going to "save" this post as part of my motivation :)
-
Thanks Mommies and Daddies for your support! I'll do my best to enjoy my "me" time. :)

Here's to hoping that it'll be easier when my little ones are older. :)
