  • I think I would read up a bit more on flax https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/flax-not-healthy/
  • Thank you!!! I just checked back on it and it’s ranked as #5 in the documentary category on its first day of presale! It has to do well on ITunes to get locked up by Netflix, Hulu and places like that. So it’s made a great start!
  • I tried to post a direct link to the iTunes page but it didn’t work.
  • I had to give up sweeteners. They just made me feel hungry and crave more sweet all day. Protein is definitely your most valuable nutrient. If you don’t get enough you will not feel satisfied. Eating things like Atkins bars may be convenient but you are essentially trading off a nutrient rich meal for a low carb candy bar.…

  • Nicely documented. Congrats on such great success!
  • I am not familiar with them but honestly nothing on the market is better than simple and ordinary sea salt of some kind. Each teaspoon of fine ground salt is 2300mg of sodium. 2000mg for each tsp of coarse ground salt. The highest pill form I’ve ever found is just under 400mg per pill. You’d have to take 10 or more pills a…
  • How much sodium are you supplementing each day? I’m guessing this idea is probably news to you. Low carb diets are sodium wasting and on top of that you aren’t eating high sodium packaged foods like you once were. Aim to get 2tsp salt a day, every day, IN ADDITION to salting food to taste.
  • How much sodium are you getting from that electrolyte water? They usually don’t really have much. You need what conventional wisdom would consider to be a lot of sodium. I really doubt you’re getting enough.
  • Maybe but that doesn’t make sense as coming from any macro calculator. Typically when people are talking macros, they aren’t giving a serving size of each food
  • Are you an “all or nothing” kind of person? If so, you may to decide to be very strict before you’ll stop falling off the wagon. For me, an all or nothing kind of person, I can’t allow myself that kind of leeway. Giving that much wiggle room is exactly what would derail me.
  • I’m not aware of any way to hide calories but you could set them to your maintenance calories if you don’t want MFP red flagging you potentially going over a reduced goal. Or just set them to some higher number as a way to not have it warning you... You’ll probably just have to train yourself to pay attention only to what…
  • It seems like you’re getting straightened out but I am confused about this part in bold. 6oz of a protein food isn’t 180g or dietary protein. 6 Oz of 80/20 beef for example is about 43g of dietary protein. The dietary nutrients don’t equal the weight of the food. To get 180g or dietary protein (which seems to be a bit…
  • It’s very much correct. I’m actually more consistently 147 these days but I wear the same clothes I’ve been wearing for 2 years now. I don’t even work out.
  • If your body is already high fat, your diet doesn’t really need to be. The fat you burn can come from body fat and will only come from body fat if you don’t eat all the fat you need to burn. Being in Ketosis doesn’t cause fat loss. It’s completely irrelevant to losing fat. So the fact your GKI is what it is doesn’t do…
  • Honestly, you’re mentioning fat bombs, BPC and MCT oil... you don’t need to add any fat if fat loss is your goal. I would stop with all of that. It’s completely unnecessary and preventing body fat loss.
  • I was experiencing it until I stopped restricting protein.
  • Yes. That’s what I am talking about. Those are good. So easy to eat a crap ton of them though
  • There really isn’t anything. Closest might be cheese crisps.
  • I love eggs! I definitely eat anywhere from 2-6 a day.
  • You don’t need the carbs for working out or a pre workout snack. If you want it, I guess go for it, but it’s not necessary. Definitely take a good dose of electrolytes prior though and I don’t mean Gatorade. I mean sodium mostly but if you want to make ketoade or snake juice or sole water or whatever thing people are doing…
  • Don’t worry about it. People almost always top losing weight upon starting exercise for one and for two, you can lose fat without losing scale weight. I haven’t lost any weight in a long long time. But I lost a lot of fat and I don’t work out.
  • That’s fantastic! Well done!
  • You can totally do it. The key is to give it to yourself as a gift and never look at it as a punishment or something you HAVE to do because you got fat and sick. You GET to eat delicious meats and veggies cooked in butter or olive oil with plenty of salt and spices and you don’t have to starve. You don’t have to eat tiny…
  • Something else I was just reading is this from Low Carb USA. It’s meant to be a clinical guide to following a low carb diet for therapeutic purposes designed by the leaders in the LC world. http://www.lowcarbusa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Clinical-Guidelines-Carbohydrate-Reduction-General-Intervention-v1.0.pdf In it,…
  • You can go over this information I just found. It details the clinical application of a low carb diet for exactly what you need to use it for. http://www.lowcarbusa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Clinical-Guidelines-Carbohydrate-Reduction-General-Intervention-v1.0.pdf Basically, you want to get enough protein to support…
  • I think this is the graphic he’s talking about Or this one
  • I’ve been a member for a couple years. I buy all sorts of things from shampoo and sunscreen to essential oils and some food items though there isn’t much I personally can eat there being carnivore. I buy some of the keto items for my daughter like the miracle noodles and their branded items are good. I buy their tomato…
  • Keep in mind that no matter which measure you decide applies to you that it is a MINIMUM recommendation not a maximum. It’s saying to be sure to get that much. More is also okay. I agree with @Dragonwolf that 100g is a good overall goal. It gives a little leeway so if you get close, you’re ok and if you go over, that’s…
  • Fermented cod liver oil will cover a lot of the things you appear to be looking for.
  • I typically get about 120g of protein a day. I favor 90/10 ground beef, tuna, sardines, chicken, shrimp and such. About 90% of what I eat is beef though.
