  • YES!! i've lost over 50 lbs in 6 months on a keto diet. being in ketosis is the best feeling. so much energy and vitality has been added to my life. Sugar and simple carbs are not your friends people. I think it's just another excuse for people to say well i can't do it because of this. you are putting limitations on…
  • belly weight is the worst kind of weight gain. it is a symptom of metabolic syndrome and can lead to heart issues, diabetes, etc. Are you drinking a lot of beer? Are you drinking a lot of sugary drinks? Are you eating a lot of carbs and sugars? Then a high fat / low carb diet works best for this type of weight problem.
  • i had this. when i lost weight the fat in the belly does go down and the double-ness will change shape.
  • i have had my A1C tested recently and in normal range. i don't test that often due to the expense of the ketone test strips. but after 6 months i know i've been in at least nutritional ketosis. Even on days when i "cheated" and ate more carbs i stayed in ketosis. and yes i have been taking measurements as well. that has…
  • could be this: "A rise in estrogen occurs just prior to ovulation which in turn triggers a surge in LH (Luteinising Hormone). This rise or excess (known as oestrogen dominance) may cause symptoms such as bloating, mainly due to increased water retention." "The hormones that regulate your menstrual cycle, estrogen and…
  • yes i'm still in a calorie deficit every day. i forgot to test myself this morning but my weight stayed the same so i think i was about the same with my numbers this morning like yesterday and my fat percentage was the same as the day before. i think hormones have something to do with it. i'm actually going into an…
  • yes i do use MCT oil..sometimes before bed. i also read that it could be my energy level. i guess i will try to do a day with less fat...or should i be working out more to use that energy?
  • get well below 140 by next month and to increase muscle mass.
  • i count, but i think when i get to my goal weight and maintain, i will not be so strict. some doctors say CICO is bs, but i don't know.
  • that's what i said. that ACV by itself wasn't a solution.
  • As a vegan,i can admit, yes there are documentaries out there with an agenda. But there are many truths in there. for me, i did it for the animals. i'm an animal lover. why eat animals when you don't have to? why support an industry that kills things? this is a hot topic and it really is up to you to do what you feel is…
  • i love IF!! some days i do 2 meals a day, some 1. when i first started i gradually went from 3 meals to 2 to 1. i wanted to make sure that i didn't have a hypoglycemic reaction. i actually did an 8 day water fast after that. it reset my system. now i do about 2 meals a day, eating after 10 am (sometimes noon) and stop…
  • ACV has benefits if added to your diet. for one it helps with your microbiome. by itself as a weight loss solution, i doubt it. but it cannot hurt you to add a little to your water every day for gut health. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23997718/?i=1&from=apple%20cider%20vinegar%20and%20weight%20loss
  • i agree with wheelhouse. see your doctor and get a blood test to see if there are any nutritional deficiencies. but if keto is working for you with the weight loss, don't give up. i had a brief stint there also of losing hair when i showered around the 3 month mark as well. but keep it up with the supplements, maybe also…
  • goal this week is to do more weight training and add it to my daily routine. everything else is on point.
  • it is not hard to get to 25 g of fiber on keto! i do it. and you don't need to add fiber supplements to do it. i've been keto since July and i've lost 47 lbs. you have to research the right foods. also, to start you need to cut your carbs significantly and NO SUGAR from the start! baby steps will not help you achieve…
  • the monkey in your head causes one to "fail". you make excuses. but you know, in truth, once you set your mind to accomplishing something, you will. you just have to focus and set small goals to reach the end goal. the small achievements keep me going. perseverance, consistency, staying on track, put reminders all over…
  • to not overeat for the holidays!
  • no more acid reflux!
  • you're bloated. i highly doubt it's actual fat from one week of carbs. it could be you're retaining water too.
  • i've been keto for 135 days. 40 lbs lost so far.
  • my mini goal is to get below 150 in the next few weeks. :)
  • 70-75% fat intake, 5-10% carb intake and the rest protein. too much protein can also turn to glucose, so be careful. you also have to factor in how much fiber and deduct that from your carbs because MFP doesn't do it.
  • belly fat is connected to insulin resistance. low carb, very little sugar can fix that. I follow a keto diet and i've lost 34 lbs so far. my waist has gone down several inches. exercise like hi intensity workouts will help but it's all about what you eat.
  • i weigh myself after i wake up and pee in the am. i have weighed myself before and after a #2 and there was no scale difference, even when i thought there should have been. LOL strange i know.
  • LAUGH! the best way to get rid of stress. and then when you reduce stress, you reduce cortisol which causes weight gain. find funny videos or funny movie or just fake laugh until you really laugh. works every time.
  • i'm a vegan keto-er. been on it 45 days now. I do IF as well and i just finished an 8 day fast. i've lost 25 lbs in 45 days so far. i think a keto community apart from the low carbers would be beneficial.
