Martin_leeann, looked at your pics and congrats your bravery to post them. Body shame's pretty hard to overcome. First, what works for you might not be what works for others. So take all advice with a grain of salt. If something doesn't work, while people are saying "its a sure bet", don't worry, just try something else.…

Welcome! Lots of great exercises to do at home. If you're as out of shape as I was I started with this routine: http://breakingmuscle.com/strength-conditioning/workout Cans of food make good weights to start with as well. Don't worry about daily weight fluctuations! It's natural and normal. I weight 1-3 lbs more at night…

My plateau busting routine has worked several times. It's pretty simple, stop what you are doing and do something else :) I'd suggest you stop running and move to another exercise that you body has not gotten efficient at. I do circuits with light weight. Walking Lunges, planks, barbell raises, push-ups, etc. 6-8 minute…

Welcome to MFP! 35 lbs in 6 months is pretty aggressive, but looks like you are already on your way to success!
-
Congrats on waking up to a new you! I was at 245, but I'm now just 6 pounds from only being "overweight"! Can't wait to no longer be "morbidly obese!"

Welcome back! Never too late to succeed on your goals.

Go into news feed settings and check the box for "I have lost weight"

I strongly recommend one that has an integrated heart rate monitor. I have a Microsoft band, but the FitBit ChargeHR is similar. The real advantage of continuous heart rate tracking is that you get a much better understanding of how many calories your body is really burning. Letting you understand better how to achieve…

MFP does not have a calculator that uses BMR. But you can set your daily calorie goal in settings->goals->calories¯os. To calculate your daily needs these are the formulas: If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2 If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) :…

Fast is hard to do. Do you really need to lose it fast? Or just want it to be over? :) Weight loss and keeping it off is a long term game. MFP is a really useful tool for that. But it's really about changing the way you look at food, not about some quick gimmick that lets you shed pounds, that you regain in a few years.…

Welcome aboard! MFP is a really great way to train your eyes to count calories. Knowing what your are eating is half the battle.

Welcome to MFP! There are lots of ways to use MFP and be successful. It's really a training tool to get you used to see what a normal portion looks like. Before I started with it I had no idea that my lunch might be 1000 calories, and dinner was 1500. Now I know when I look at something what it is likely to be. Keep in…

I did a quick peek and have 2 observations. First, less red meat, and more chicken or fish. This will adjust your mix away from fat and towards protein. Second, I noticed a fair amount of fried food. Chicken and fish that is baked or grilled. Again this will move you away from fat and towards more protein. But as others…

Thanks, CyberTone! that helped me too!

Be careful going too low. You body may think it's at risk of starvation and lower your metabolism, resulting lower weight loss, and a feeling like your tired all the time. Set your goal of loss per week and try to HIT the target calories. Good Luck!

I have a Microsoft Band. It's not as popular as the Fitbit, but I really like the device. I would STRONGLY recommend that you get one with integrated heart rate monitoring like the Band or the Fitbit ChargeHR. Knowing what you heart rate is while you work out is really important. I start my workouts with 10 minutes of…

Based on what I see my female friends posting here 300 calories is about a 30-45 minute steady walk on level ground at about 3mph. You burn 80-100 calories an hour for just living. Typically 10,000 steps a day is what is considered a good goal. For me this is way too high. I would have to take an extra 2 mile walk each day…
-
Short answer: Not very accurate. Long Answer: It really depends on how you walk. I used my iPhone on a trail that was marked with distances along the trail. After 2 miles it said I had walked 2.3. On the return trip it said I had walked 2.4. So it was off over 10%. I bought a step tracker, its much more accurate. My…

Yes you can eat what you want if you stay within your budget. BUT... You need to pay some attention to the mix of you macro nutrients (Fat, Carbs, Protein). If you hate cooking you are going to find that it's harder to stay on budget, as how factories cook food is beneficial to them, and not necessarily beneficial to you.…

Welcome! 3kg in 3 weeks is an aggressive goal! Good luck.

Congrats on getting back to the pre-baby weight! Looking awesome!

Welcome Jenn! NO idea on the phosphate or potassium, just saying high. Well I guess Bananas are bad as the have a lot of potassium!

First celebrate the pound lost! No need to be harder on yourself! I'm pretty lucky with good health. With your lower metabolism its going to be difficult, so celebrate each pound you manage to lose. I would suggest that you change up your diet and exercise. You body adjusts pretty quickly to things, so you need to change…

Sounds like a great dream! Welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. Not local, but looking for friends all over the world.

Both great reasons to be here! MFP is great teaching you what a real sized meal looks like.

7 stone! Wow. That's fantastic. Those last few pounds will come. Are you actually eating enough? I hit a plateau and actually added some protein to my diet and the body reacted positively. But I have a feeling you have more to teach me on plateau busting.
