  • Same here, washing machine doesn't stop. Dryer only has a towel as everything else is air dryed due to all the plastic clothes (spandex, dry wick, etc.). Drying with heat will shrink or lower the life expectancy of my cycling and workout clothes.
  • Yeah, same at the thrift shops. We are now all in competition with the most popular sizes. Where there were many pairs of size 40, 38, 36 inch waist jeans, there are few 34 inch waist jeans. When we go looking for teenager sized clothes... Good Luck!
  • She might be a troll. Her one point was, for her, "setting out to eat one slice of pizza ends up many slices of pizza and therefore no pizza at all, and therefore she can't eat whatever she wants" She saw that as true for here and therefore must be true for every other person. She doesn't have much on her profile page,…
  • Wow, lots of good stuff in this thread. The entire phrase, "You can eat whatever you want if you stay below your daily calorie burn and lose weight" is a true statement. The reason to limit food high in calories and low in nutrition is that you will miss out on nutrition. Also there is a process called sugar crash that can…
  • After losing weight, ski bindings need to be adjusted. If the bindings were set more than 25 lbs ago, they are likely too strong to let go of your boot today and you risk injury. You can adjust them yourself or take them in to a ski shop (Sports Basement). You can also take them to any place that rents skis, they should be…
  • Hi, Not sure if the OP is even reading this anymore. I see you are having a crisis of faith during class where you are learning things and trying to balance what you are learning with what you have learned/observed in the world. After the class is over, you will be expected to apply what you have learned in the class. This…
  • I've also been playing around with overnight oats. My wife is more into chia seeds than oatmeal, so I am using 1/4 cup of oatmeal and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds. I'm also skipping the yogurt, using 1/2 cup of plain (unsweetened) almond milk. @kimblesnbits, Try more sweetener to counteract the bitter, depending on the…
  • When I was fostering, another foster parent explained a "formation" event. One parent (p1) of the pair always took the kids shopping. Then when the other parent (p2) took the kids shopping, the parent (p2) was upset that the kids weren't letting go of the shopping cart, always hanging on the cart. When they asked the kids…
  • Now that I'm closer to my goal, I invested in some Levi's 501 Button Fly Jeans. I used to wear them all the time growing up and decided to "get back into them". I was happy to see that they are still available. I am a little sad to see that the quality of the fabric is not as good as when I was younger, oh well. The button…
  • You can have my phablet when you pry it out of my cold dead fingers! That was what went through my head when I read your post, sorry, couldn't resist.
  • Yep! If you want to be fit, hang out with fit people! Larry Winget, author of "You're Broke Cause You Want To Be", and other self help books, suggests that if you want change in your life, you need to hang out with people that have already made the change to learn how to live like a person who had already been through the…
  • Yes, the standing-up-what-to-do-with-your-hands is an issue I've had to deal with myself. What is comfortable to me is to cross my arms on my chest. However that appears to some people as too defensive a posture, so I avoid that. The option that works for me is a modified parade rest pose, a military pose where the feet…
  • I am often exposed to unhealthy food and hear the same lines, especially the "Birthday's only come once a year" excuse. I know 30-40 people that all have birthdays. With all those birthdays and Holidays and anniversaries and other special occasions, I'm saying no 3x a week. And if junk food is "special" 3 x a week, to me…
  • Is 85 pennies, a dime and a nickle counted more than once for order? (85 pennies, a nickle and a dime), (a nickle, 85 pennies, a dime), (a dime, 85 pennies, a nickle), (a dime, a nickle, 85 pennies), and (a nickle, a dime and 85 pennies)
  • Anyone else notice it takes less alcohol to get a buzz than before? I used to drink the high alcohol content beers to get a buzz, now any beer gives me a buzz.

Did a short ride on the recumbent yesterday just to get some miles in. This morning I rode longer, I also upped the resistance to 10 from 9. I didn't think I would last…
  • Finally thought of another one... ...that I'd wish I'd taken photos of my before self in less clothes so I could see the difference easier in before and after photos.

  • Yeah, I gave away all the clothes I was saving for when I lost weight as those are now too big. As winter is arriving I realized that none of my favorite winter clothes fit me. I'm not looking forward to buying new clothes as I'm still losing weight. I'm buying enough clothes to get by at the Goodwill. @youdoyou2016 I'm…

  • @35 Dollars, Hey, that's a nice bike.
  • Good Luck with the clip ins. Unclip well before a stop. Also, the fall overs I've witnessed with people new to clipping in, including myself, is talking before a stop or fiddling with garmin before a stop...distracted stopping. 10/13 - 21.2 miles, REB, 149.9 down, 250.1 to go 10/15 - 12.0 miles, REB, 161.9 down, 238.1 to…
